Vilamendhoo Island Resort & Spa is situated in the South Ari Atoll which is about 25-minutes by seaplane transfer from Velana International Airport. This island is 900 meters long by 250 meters wide and surrounded by a spectacular house reef. We have a total of 194 rooms with 2 buffet restaurants, 2 a la carte restaurants and 4 bars.
We are looking for motivated, customer service oriented and experienced Sommelier to join us!
Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the F&B Manger/ F&B Operations Manager/ Outlet Managers, responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
•Knowing the full wine list in order to assist guests with their choices, being able to make recommendations to guests for a better choice.
•Supervising wine service by waiters in the other dining locations and rotate amongst the outlets to give daily training sessions.
•To ensure guests satisfaction by delivering quality and variety of wines and wine services to the resort guests
•Setting up all necessary equipment for wine tastings and any other relevant activities
•Assisting the F&B Manager in keeping sufficient stock levels in the cellars and to avoid dead stock.
•High school diploma in wine, gastronomy and management or equivalent qualification of wine & sommelier
•At least completed WSET level 3 with minimum 2 years Hotel Restaurant service experience
•Fluent in English with a friendly and approachable attitude
