Delivers food and beverage orders to guest rooms according to Hotel specifications, courteously and efficiently. Also assists in the maintenance of the Room Service area and equipment.

External: Hotel Guests and Visitors.

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential:

Minimum of 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages. 2 year(s) experience as a Server in a upscale hotel or restaurant.. Food handling certificate. Fluency in English both verbal and written. Compute basic arithmetic. Provide legible communication. Ability to:

Desirable:

High school graduate or equivalent vocational training certificate. Previous experience in Private Dining. Certification of previous training in liquor, wine and food service. Certification in CPR Certification in an alcohol awareness program. Fluency in a foreign language, preferably Japanese Ability to suggestively sell. Ability to input and access information in the property management system/computers/point of sales system.. Previous guest relations training.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES

Essential:

1. Exert physical effort in transporting 50 pounds.

2. Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.

3. Reach 2 feet.

4. Remain in stationary position for 5 hours throughout work shift.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service

procedures/standards.

Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended. Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day. Maintain positive guest relations at all times. Be familiar with all Hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately. Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction with a sense of urgency and concern. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas. Maintain complete knowledge of all liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections available in Private Dining. Maintain knowledge of the particular characteristics and description of every wine/champagne by the glass and major wines on the wine list. Maintain complete knowledge of designated glassware and garnishes for drinks. Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, preparation method, ingredients, sauces, preparation time, garnishes, presentation and prices. Maintain complete knowledge of guest room layout, locations and room numbers/names. Maintain complete knowledge and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons and drunk driving. Maintain knowledge of P.O.S. and manual systems. Answer Private Dining phone within 3 rings, using correct salutations and telephone etiquette, up selling at every opportunity.


Complete opening side duties as assigned: Check quality and amount of all Room Service stock and supplies using checklist. Fold/stack Private Dining napkins. Requisition all necessary supplies and transport from storeroom to Room Service. Set tables and trays. Set up all condiments (butter, jellies, syrups, juices) and beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic). Ensure a sufficient supply of all silverware, glassware and chinaware for service. Prepare all cold food items (cereals, fruits, salads). Check cleanliness and condition of all equipment for use in Private Dining area, rectify any deficiencies. Ensure all flowers and decorative items are fresh for guest use. Retrieve all food orders from kitchen and place on table/tray, handling with a sense of urgency. Retrieve all alcoholic beverage items from bar and place on table/tray in accordance with the departmental standards. Transport tables/trays from Private Dining area to guest rooms, ensuring all standards of food presentation are maintained and that no spillage occurs. Enter the guest room and place the table/tray by following the established departmental procedures, greeting guests by name. Serve the food items and beverages to the guest following proper sequence of service. Open and serve wine/champagne bottles. Present check to guest for signature/payment. Adhere to all payment procedures established by Accounting, thanking the guest by name upon departing the room. Set up and deliver amenities to designated rooms. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of all service areas, guest rooms and guest corridors. Transport all tables/trays from guest rooms to Private Dining area (inform guests about tray pickup procedure). Clean and reset tables/trays, maintaining sufficient supply in the Private Dining area. Collect and report tips at the end of the assigned shift. Complete closing side duties: Properly store all reusable goods. Breakdown all goods. Clean all equipment as assigned in the side duties. Restock items for next service. Remove all dirty linen; fold napkins. Marry and stock all condiments. Reset tables/trays. Complete all closing reports as assigned. AM - Set up and deliver door knob orders. PM - Collect door knob menus from guest rooms. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Manager. Serve our guests. Serve the other Turtle Bay Resort team members who serve our guests. Perform any and all functions as directed - you are a member of the entire Turtle Bay Resort team, not just a member of your department. Take personal responsibility to ensure the success of the team - the team succeeds because of your actions. Always put the team objectives ahead of your personal agenda. Perform the security and safety function of all Turtle Bay Resort Employees to ensure the security and safety of all guests and of all fellow Employees - be vigilant for all safety/security issues, correct and/or report all issues immediately.
Perform the housekeeping function of all Turtle Bay Resort Employees - keep your work area clean and neat, and correct and/or report any housekeeping issues outside of your work area in the public and heart-of-the-house areas as you encounter. Perform your sales function - all Turtle Bay Resort Employees are sales people for the company and for the property - be knowledgeable of Turtle Bay Resort and of all aspects of your property, and always present both in the best light to guests and to the community at large. Perform your community ambassador function - get involved in your community and represent Turtle Bay Resort and your property well. Always speak first and speak last to guests in a friendly, courteous manner - every guest encounter should include this. Always greet co-workers in the same friendly, courteous manner - never pass a fellow Employeewithout acknowledgement. Deal with all guests and fellow Turtle Bay Resort team members with respect and honesty. Present yourself properly in the work place at all times - full uniform including name badge, dress/uniforms always clean and pressed, personal grooming always up to standard.

SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS

Relieve Order Taker/Cashier as assigned: Take guest orders and record. Utilize suggestive/up-selling techniques when taking orders. Input order into system and ensure transmission of food orders is verified by Kitchen. Legibly document orders when system is down and distribute food orders to Kitchen. Process payment of guest checks according to Accounting procedures. Obtain cigars/cigarettes when requested by guests. Follow maintenance program and cleaning schedule. Replace flowers in bud vases. Polish silver trays and coffee pots. Expedite on floor or in Kitchen as assigned. Complete office paperwork (filing). Legibly document pertinent information in the Private Dining logbook. Legibly document maintenance needs on work orders and submit to Manager.
