·Serves bar guests their orders promptly and courteously

·Accurately records guest orders and serves beverage orders

·Insures proper garnishing of drinks

·Checks periodically with guests to see if they would like anything else

·Informs guests of last call

·Processes guest checks accurately

·Arranges furniture in the bar area as needed

·Ensures that the working area and station is stocked with “mise-en-place” and kept clean and tidy at all times

·Maintains a thorough working knowledge of the bar menu, wine and beer list, and content of drinks to be able to advise guests on selection and promote additional sales accordingly

·Promotes additional sales by taking opportunities to up-sell, in a manner that is professional and courteous

·Confers with the Outlet Manager concerning set-ups and reservations

·Knows how to handle intoxicated individuals

·Has full knowledge of alcohol and liquor policies and regulations, and complies fully with them

·Checks the restaurant reservations list frequently during the shift

·Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor/manger


·Ensures that own cash is secure at all times

·Ensures all discrepancies in own cash are declared to the Outlet Manager and Financial Controller

·Maintains high confidentiality in regards to guest privacy

·Notifies the Outlet Manager and Executive Housekeeper regarding lost and found objects

·Reports all potential and real hazards appropriately

·Fully understands the hotel’s fire, emergency, and bomb procedures

·Follows emergency procedures to provide for the security and safety of guests and employees

·Works in a safe manner that does not harm or injure self or others

·Supports a safe hotel by applying hotel regulations, and adhering to existing laws and regulations

·Maintains the highest standards of personal hygiene, dress, uniform, appearance, body language and conduct

·Responsible Business: show involvement and be interested in environmental and/or social issues by participating in Responsible Business hotel and departmental activities


·Stays current with activities in the hotel by reviewing the communication log book each shift; updates log book for next shift

·Assists the Outlet Manager when requested

·Attends meetings and training required by the Bar Manager

·Accepts flexible work schedule necessary for uninterrupted service to hotel guests

·Continuously seeks to endeavour professionalism in own job function

- Hotel fire, bomb and emergency procedures
- Hotel health and safety policies and procedures
- Hotel facilities and nearby sights of interest and importance (i.e. hospitals,
stations, tourist sights)
- Hotel and corporate marketing and promotional programs
- Corporate clients and clients generating high business volume
