The role:


To manage and have the overall team and Key Account responsibility of accommodation handling for the big project in 2024 in Zurich, reporting directly to the Regional Director to execute this event which has been dedicated to the team.

To manage and be responsible for the secure regular flow of information between involved suppliers, the internal accounting team, and the upper management.


Reports to: Regional Director Housing

Key Relationships: Project Managers and Assistant Project Manager Congress, HR locally, Finance locally, Head of Congress


Key Responsibilities:


  • In charge of executing business according to the defined destination market strategy, defined workflow, guiding principles, procedures and training.
  • Develops client accommodation proposals together with the line manager
  • Contracts suppliers and hotels according to the event requirements in close corporation with the Regional Director.
  • Deliver a lean and cost-effective structure, delivering operational excellence at all times
  • Deliver against operational KPIs and provide KPI monitoring as and when required (in line with MICE standards)
  • Lead the team to ensure their profound experience in applying execution excellence principles
  • Maintain a continuing high level of competence within the team with respect to the organization’s products, services, and prices to allow for professional handling of the business
  • Actively supports the integration of sustainability into the project’s workflow.
  • Considers the environmental, social, and economic impact of office and business activities and attempts to combat any negative results
  • Regular communication with line managers / Senior Managers on all major developments and initiatives
  • Secure proper training for the team to learn event software and be able to use all its functionalities
  • Ensure that all services given are in line with Company quality demands
  • Supervise & delegate the observation of cancellation deadlines
  • Be on-site/ available during key event days (defined together with the line manager)
  • Control cost and optimize profit
  • Builds, develops and grows supplier relationships vital to the success of the business
  • Holds regular meetings with subordinates on an individual basis, ensuring alignment an all key tasks Personal development in project acquisition know-how
  • Ensure all business activities comply with relevant financial, industry compliance, legislative, legal demands, and ethical standards of the organization
  • Planning, budgeting, conception, organization and completion of the project.
  • Correspondence with event delegates (answering questions, booking services, managing payment…) during the preparation phase.
  • Database management, setup and updates in our event software
  • Onsite support
  • Keeping track of and reporting on project progress.
  • Completing any tasks assigned by the line manager in an efficient and timely manner.


To succeed in this role, you should have:


  • Degree in tourism/business administration/marketing/event management
  • Demonstrable experience in hotel operations (operational and ideally management in the Accommodation Management field)
  • 1-2 years of leadership experience
  • 1-2 years of business development experience
  • 2-3 years of project management & leadership experience
  • Excellent network with high relevance to the offered position
  • Fluency in German and English
  • Strong IT literacy
  • Operations and process management skills
  • Financially literate
  • Relationship management and interpersonal skills
  • Strategy implementation skills
  • Communication, influencing, and negotiation skills
  • Problem solving & Presentation skills
  • Flair for and interest in incorporating sustainability measures
  • Based in Zurich area with the contacts with hotel supply chain
