JOB DESCRIPTION

The role of Marine Operations Director is responsible to operate vessels safely to exceed customer satisfaction and contractual requirements in a cost effective manner for all fleet in our Maldives business operations.


What will I be doing?

As a Marine Operations Director, you will be responsible for the effective management and performance of all Maldives Marine Operation and you will perform the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Ensure proper implementation of Planned Maintenance System (PMS) throughout the fleet in Maldives and monitor all managed vessel’s operation activities.
  • Actively involved in the vessel’s audit, inventory and talent management.
  • Develop relationships and communicating with resorts to achieve the highest customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure adequate resources are available to implement and execute Safety and Quality Management System
  • Effective leadership of all operational staff in Maldives including efficient manpower planning, ensuring technical competence of staff and monitoring of technical performance.
  • Develop manuals onboard relating to the vessel’s operation
  • Ensure that all vessels comply with statutory and classification society requirements including the client/charterer requirement
  • Ensure that all vessels have complete and valid certification / documents and they are available at all relevant locations
  • Responsible to identify applicable guidelines, codes, regulations and standards required.
  • Ensure that all procedures and tasks carried out have complied with all relevant regulations.
  • Coordinate all actions to be taken in an emergency situation onboard the vessel
  • Prepare annual budgets for this business and monthly reporting against the budget.
  • Ensure accounting and control processes such as inventory control, purchasing process and log book systems are in place and maintained.
  • Capital Expenditure planning to replace, renew and maintain the fleet.

What are we looking for?

A Marine Operations Director to successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviors, skills, and values that follow:

  • Degree in Marine Engineering or other related field of studies
  • Relevant working experience in the offshore marine industry
  • Prior managerial experience with experience with luxury vessels is highly preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong agility in managing tight deadlines
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Strong business management skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt responsibilities and to take on new challenges as the role develops.
