About the Role:

An opportunity has arisen for an IT Specialist to join Jumeirah Beach Hotel.

The purpose of this role is to provide both Guests and Colleagues with the best possible IT Support within assigned functional area (Helpdesk, Operations, Networks).

The main responsibilities are:

  • Provides first level IT support to colleagues and guests within agreed SLAs.
  • Responds to guest queries in a friendly and efficient manner
  • Works within the ITIL process framework ensuring all activities are accurately logged
  • Monitors the performance of Networks, Servers, Workstations, and peripherals and informs the Functional IT Manager of any abnormalities.
  • Maintains an updated IT knowledge to enable continuous improvement to the services offered to users.
  • Shares knowledge with colleagues within the department
  • Completes projects as allocated by the IT Manager / Director of IT
  • Comprehensive knowledge of computer hardware / software concepts.
  • Achieves computer system objectives by gathering pertinent data; identifying and evaluating options; recommending a course of action.
  • Evaluates system potential by testing compatibility of new programs with existing programs.
  • Places software into production by loading software into computer; entering necessary commands.
  • Maximizes use of hardware and software by training users; interpreting instructions; answering questions.
  • Maintains historical records by documenting hardware and software changes and revisions.
  • Maintains client confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

About you:

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

  • Degree or Diploma in IT related field
  • Advanced Knowledge of Network And/or Servers Configuration and Setup
  • At least 3 years’ experience in an environment which requires practical usage of technical skills or in a network company
  • Fluent in English
  • Microsoft Office
  • Advanced network skills
  • Hospitality IT Experience
  • Call Centre experience
  • Hotel Applications Experience
  • Three years’ experience on Servers hardware and software
  • Exposure to RAID.
  • AD and Exchange
  • Basic Networking skills
