General Manager

He/She functions as a strategic business leader for the resort and responsible for ensuring implementation of the resort’s vision as well as the implementation and assessment of regular business action plans that includes Finance, Sales & Marketing, Human Resources, Operations, POMEC and Safety & Environment. The position develops and implements resort-wide strategies that deliver products and services to meet or exceed the needs and expectations of the resort’s target customers. Ensures team engagement and focuses on growing revenue and maximizing the financial performance of the resort.


Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop plans and strategies to grow revenue through improving online reputation, social media strategies, building better key partner and media relationships, improving value proposition, emphasizing USP’s whilst working brand guidelines.
  • Provide the vision and leadership to inspire the team to deliver exceptional guest service, develop overall team performance and employee engagement, ensures employee development to promote a climate of engagement and cooperation.
  • Collaborate with all section and department leaders to define KPI targets and objectives as well as provide guidance and strategies in achieving them.
  • Ensure management presence is visible throughout the resort’s guest areas in key times to build up relations with guests and encourage feedback and provide effective support to team members. Respond to guest comments and online reviews in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance in terms of meeting local regulations, specifically in safety, environment, financial and legal compliance.


Job Requirements:

  1. Must have at least 5 or more years of experience as General Manager in a similar boutique, luxury resort
  2. Bachelor’s degree in hospitality or related field of study (this is a minimum requirement for the processing of work permit in the Maldives)
  3. Remote island experience and an additional foreign language will be an added advantage.
  4. Demonstrate excellent organizational, problem-solving and communication skills.
