Job Role


General Manager in catering operations provides the vision, innovation, leadership, and business management necessary for the successful operation of catering services and is responsible for all aspects of catering operations.


Job Responsibilities


  • Ensure compliance with legislation and regulatory requirements and company policies
  • Prepare the rolling strategic plan in line with the overall company’s mission, vision and business strategy
  • Oversee the planning, implementation, management and evaluation of a range of catering services and facilities
  • Manage the organization’s budget by preparing annual budgets for each functional area to deliver cost efficiencies and revenue growth
  • Perform effective and efficient management of the day-to-day operations of the division and ensure that requirements of operations are fully met
  • Execute overall financial management of catering operations including the preparation of budgets, key performance indicators, financial reporting and stewardship, ensuring an effective control environment and maximum level of financial return
  • Achieve financial and other targets through innovation in services and product offerings and marketing initiatives
  • Ensure the quality of the food and service offering is commensurate with all requirements and standards
  • Ensure that a customer-centered service is provided
  • Provide effective leadership, management and motivation of catering staff
  • Undertake a monthly post-event review of each event against budget highlighting potential improvements via a debrief process in conjunction with finance and other relevant departments
  • Ensure that all concerned parties are kept fully informed of the plans and performance of catering services
  • Maintain strong client relations and ensures that catering specifications are communicated and executed for a successful customer experience
  • Solicit new and existing accounts and grow target segments to meet/exceed revenue goals through solicitation, outside sales calls, company visits and association networking supporting the team to penetrate the market
  • Participate in catering sales meetings and presentations with the team, support property & CPU tours or onsite company visits, and customer meetings
  • Maintain strong effective relationships and partnerships with a broad range of stakeholders


Job Requirements


  • Graduate degree in Hospitality/Food science and technology/Catering and Business Administration or similar relevant field
  • Expertise in running a similar facility
  • UAE experience in catering/hospitality services/Airline
  • Minimum 10 years of current and relevant experience preferred
  • Ability to influence and communicate with all levels of management, employees and clients
  • The fluency in the Arabic language will be an advantage
  • Knowledge in Client servicing & crisis management
  • Expertise in negotiation and perseverance
