Job Brief

The Chief Electrician in close collaboration with the Chief Engineer is responsible for the supervision of the Electrical Section in the resort compound.

Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Preventive and corrective maintenance of all electrical installation in the power plant
  • Preventive and corrective maintenance of all main distribution panel throughout the property
  • Preventive and corrective maintenance of all sub distribution panel throughout the property
  • Preventive and corrective maintenance of the both step-up and step-down transformer
  • Preventive and corrective maintenance of the both HT & LT switch gears
  • Preventive and corrective maintenance of all electrical powered equipment control panels
  • Preventive and corrective maintenance of Engineering communication devises (SCADA)
  • If assigned, supervise the entire electrical team ensuring that his subordinates are at all times (during working hours) gainfully employed in the maintenance of the resort electrical equipment and systems.
  • If assigned, Set work tasks for his subordinates and monitors their progress ensuring good workmanship, standard and quality.
  • If assigned, work as a power plant mechanic. (Refer to the Job description of power plant mechanic below)
  • All new electrical installation and modification works
  • Requisition materials from the Maintenance stores and ensure correct usage of the items without wastage or excess to requirement.
  • Ensure the maintenance and efficient operation of the resort electrical power system by assisting the preventive maintenance manager for execution of preventive maintenance.
  • Monitor the stock level all required spare parts and consumables in the maintenance stores and advises the store manager when to re-order.
  • Work with all departmental senior managers and engineers in the planning and installation of new equipment systems and or facilities.
  • In collaboration with the senior managers, provide appropriate training to electrical and all maintenance staff
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the senior departmental managers or engineers
  • Should be available to attend any maintenance requests which might occur off duty hours.
  • Should be available to attend any late evening/night maintenance requests which need to be attended without any delay
  • In case of fire or any other emergency, the Senior Electrician should be present to assist the Emergency Team.
  • Assists the department manager in the planning and installation of new equipment, systems and/or facilities.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Diploma in Electrical Installation
  • Supervisory skills
  • Minimum 3 years working experience on supervisory level in tourism industry
  • Be fully conversant with all health and safety procedures.
