Director of Technical Services (Corporate)

As a Group Director of Technical Services, you are responsible for driving all project management services for delivery of developments and refurbishment projects in a timely and cost-effective manner, without compromising the quality. As an expert in engineering, project management and back-office operations in regard to new development, refurbishment projects, you will provide project advice and technical guidance to senior management, and drive function of technical services within the framework resorts’ brand standards.

Key Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and strategy to ensure technical services are delivered to an exceptional standard.
  • Reviews, assesses and reports on project proposals.
  • Conducts regular audits and reports on resorts technical facilities, M&E, R&M aspects in general and fire, safety standards in particular.
  • Review, update and implement policies and procedures.
  • Ensure regular monitoring the maintenance standard, energy consumption, budget and expense etc., of the resorts.
  • Takes ownership and oversees brand standards (design and technical), and coordinate internally and externally to ensure consistency and uniformity
  • Interface with multiple departments:
  • Provide feasibility analysis for resort projects
  • Coordinate FF&E and OS&E programs for projects
  • Contract negotiation
  • Interface with bidding and value engineering process
  • Interface with construction administration activities
  • Provide day to day management of multiple projects, organizational strategy and process leadership
  • Actively trains in fire prevention, environmental health and safety and engineering systems. Works closely with the team to organize and implement planning, design and construction for new and existing properties
  • Advises licenses application/renewal by the properties.
  • Provides technical advice to maintain and operational problems that arise.
  • Reviews and comments on the proposed upgrading/renovation works and special projects, and to ensure that all works can comply with Authorities’ requirements.
  • Reviews and comments on the annual budget and capital expenditure proposal related to technical issues.
  • Implements energy saving or other new technology which will be beneficial to the properties.
  • Analyzes and evaluates operations of the properties to ensure their value and character are consistently implemented into all future projects.
  • Analyzes and evaluates current trends and best practices in the hospitality and resort markets.
  • Provides project management services
  • Develop and review all required SoPs.
  • Coordinates with General Contractors and Sub-Contractors to deliver brand expectations and standards for projects.
  • Prepares technical data, bidding, project work, alterations and repairs for properties.

Job Requirements:

  • Must have MQA Level 7 (a bachelor’s degree) or above qualification, preferably in project management or Engineering management or related technical field
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in hotel engineering services including 5 years in corporate / senior management.
  • Exemplary multitasking and organizational skills

  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
  • Highly responsible & reliable
