Director of Finance

Crawford & Carruthers is searching for a Director of Finance at a luxury estate in Saudi Arabia.

Minimum Requirements

  1. Minimum 4 years accounting experience, preferably in a Hospitality or food and beverage environment and quality with a background that includes forecasting and budgeting

  2. Solid knowledge of financial and accounting procedures

  3. Excellent relationship building skills

  4. Strong financial reporting and tax experience 

  5. Strong verbal and written communications skills with strong accounting software experience

  6. Confident dealing with senior stakeholders

  7. Ability to solve complex issues with strong attention to detail.

  8. Able to work under pressure

  9. Experience using budgeting, forecasting and reporting tools

  10. Knowledge of financial regulations

  11. Excellent time management & organizational skills.

Job Functions

To provide timely and accurate information and work together with the executive team in order for the property to run within the legal and corporate guidelines to maximize the use of the resources available and maintain control over costs and help ensure that the company’s financial and quality objectives are met.

  1.  Following, understanding and applying all Policies & Procedures, that have a financial impact on the company.

  2. Responsible for understanding and following the terms of the Management Agreement.

  3. Supporting, mentoring, and developing the Finance and Procurement Team.

  4. Responsible for developing the annual business plan together with the General Manager and Executive Committee.

  5. Organize and conduct monthly financial business review meetings.

  6. Monitor and control all funding and expenses and making the corresponding recommendations when needed.

  7. Review the cash position of the property in order to optimize the use of funds.

  8. Prepare and submit a quarterly self-assessment report of the property.

  9. Prepare and submit an accurate monthly forecast.

  10. Preparation of the accurate and timely monthly financial report.

  11. Responsible for being the contact for the client and act upon recommendations in the audit report.

  12. Continuously identify new business opportunities and contacts to benefit the company.

  13. Responsible for working together with the Heads of Departments in order to obtain the best products and prices available; reviewing market list and offers daily.

  14. Ensure that competitive bidding is taking place and that business is awarded fairly and ethically.

Preferred Education

  1. Candidate must possess at least a Professional accounting qualification and a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Graduate in Accounting

  2. Proficiency with MS Office (Excel / Word) and experience with PMS like Opera, Room master, Protel, Visual One, Delphi, Sun Finance, Oracle Finance, SAP etc.

  3. Advanced computer software skills, including Excel and other accounting packages such as CA or CPA
