Deputy General Manager (m/w/d) (Food Team)

Eurest Deutschland is looking for a passionate and driven Deputy General Manager to work in the Food Team based at the biggest search engine Machine worldwide located in the heart of Hamburg.

You will work with the General Manager to take responsibility for the overall organisation and supervision of the Food contract in line with expected standards required by both Eurest Deutschland as well as our client. You'll get to lead the Food operations of the Hamburg office, providing outstanding food experiences while training and developing your team to be at their best.

  • Designs, manages and owns the overall experience, not just the offerings
  • Sets an expectation of hospitality that is friendly and engaging
  • Has a Passion for quality food preparation and taste
  • Trains and develops the management team
  • Has experience in creating, managing and implementing new projects and ideas
  • Assists the GM to ensure manager reviews, coaching sessions, and disciplinary actions are delivered in a professional and timely manner
  • Works with GM to monitor and manage all financial responsibilities such as forecasting and budgeting
  • Ensures all sector and Compass employee guidelines are implemented and adhered to
  • Promotes a culture of Food and Workplace Safety
  • Communicates with our partner honestly, accurately and in a timely manner
  • Oversees and contributes to the successful opening of all new CafĂ©
  • Meets all timelines for quarter and year-end reports given by our partner and Sector Employer
  • Work on our office expansion and manage our growth

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred, or equivalent professional experience
  • Has a minimum of 3-5 years food service multi unit supervision experience
  • German and English - Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Strong passion for great food and hospitality
  • General culinary knowledge of basic kitchen practices, protocols and procedures
  • Manages time effectively and prioritizes tasks to meet deadlines
  • Ability to follow all Health & safety standards
  • Demonstrates good judgement and decision making skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Having supported previous hotel or restaurant openings and mobilizations would be a plus
