Welcome to the Emerald Maldives, a 5-star Deluxe All-Inclusive Resort and a proud member of The Leading Hotels of the World. Located on the Raa Atoll, in the northern part of the Maldives archipelago, this Deluxe All-Inclusive Resort is surrounded by 1.5 kms of soft white sand on a lush private 20 hectares island and features 120 villas, 60 of which are located on the island and 60 directly on the sea.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities and duties for this position shall include, but not be limited to, the following areas and activities. At management discretion, direction may be given for tasks outside the scope of work described.
1.Organisation
?Plan, co-ordinate and control all wine organization and activities.
?Follow and apply application of standards and procedures as define in the operating manual.
?Follow and apply application of procedures and regulations concerning hygiene and safety as well as alcoholic beverage service.
?Correctly use and check materials for wine service. Ensure that equipment and materials are readily available.
?Participates in inventory taking.
?Ensure and provide exceptional wine service in the different outlets and to have product knowledge in wine and also other alcoholic beverages such as cocktails, beers and spirits.
?Provide guests guidance in their choice of wine to accompany their food and to advice them on any other accompaniments to a meal such as classic aperitifs, cocktails, cigars, digestives as well as liqueurs.
?To work closely with the Head Sommelier to compile the wine list.
?To ensure that all stock deliveries are properly documented and stored to the correct temperature to prevent the minimum wastage.
?To assist the Head Sommelier in training other staff on wine knowledge.
