Assistant Director of Finance

The Director of Revenue (in conjunction with the Reservations Team) will lead the day-to-day Revenue Operations.

This will include all aspects of Revenue from providing key leadership surrounding the hotel's revenue recognition policies and will regularly interface with the sales, operations, and marketing teams. As a member of the Exec Com the /Director of Revenue will have responsibility for driving the hotels KPI’s of GOP, Wynreview, LTO, AES etc.

It is not the intent of this job description to cover all aspects of the position but to highlight the most important areas of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

Revenue

·Market Intelligence: Conducting competitive & demand analyses

·Providing critical analysis of chosen strategies,

·Preparing room statistics and general demand factors for efficient and balanced selling

·Defining objectives and monitoring Hotel’s e-commerce strategies and online marketing plans.

·Developing relevant budgets, monitoring productivity, and preparing various status reports shall be part of your KPI’s.

·Maintain and implement as necessary the Yield Management system in all related Revenue Generating Departments.

·Ensure completion of daily, weekly, and monthly forecasts. Create and maintain a rolling demand calendar

·Monitor and review inventory and rate control using reports completed in this role - including booking pace, regrets, market segmentation, availability calendar, rate check report and other reports as required.

·Coordinate throughout the hotel effective rate and inventory controls, forecasting and market mix management, and other hotel operations responsibilities with the effective use of revenue management.

·Prepare for and chair Weekly RevMax Meeting and send weekly update to all concerned.

·Review segments to establish specific market segment progress versus our goals.

·To analyze competitive information reports for bench marking against competitive set on a daily and monthly basis (revenue penetration index)

·Provide support to all departments on the technical aspects of installation, support, maintenance, training, as well as business consulting, change management and business process redesign services, as and when required.

·To identify and develop key resources at the hotel, and focus on conceptual, financial, and technical system training to ensure the long-term sustainability of Revenue Management at the hotel.

·To manage, in conjunction with the /General Manager and /Directors of Sales and Marketing the re-engineering or re-enforcement of business processes from an overall perspective of revenue maximization and consistent rate quotation, sales strategies and service delivery.

·Oversee and audit the standards and operations of the reservations department.

·Prepare outline for and support the annual revenue budget process for each hotel.

·To support the hotel in achieving their overall annual profitability goals through Revenue Management practices.

·To constantly audit the evolving needs of the hotel in terms of technical expertise, business processes and re-training, and proactively plan for their successful resolution.

·Prepares, monitors and controls budgets accurately.

·Interprets monthly financial data and identifies and takes corrective action as and when required.

·To analyze the current revenue generation trends of each hotel, to identify critical areas for Revenue enhancement.

·To set in place integrated solutions to enable the hotel to leverage their global profitability via Revenue Management practices, focusing on revenue engineering at all profit centers in each hotel, and improving efficiency in cost control.

·To set in place bench marking and monitoring mechanisms at the hotel that will permit the constant tracking of financial results through the course of the year, and proactively permit the identification of need and opportunity areas.

  • Inspire Hotel’s Exec Com and HODs to further embed a revenue management culture.

Human Resources

·Responsible for HR leadership of direct reports and their teams (recruitment and selection, performance management (Appraisal/PDP), associate development and motivation, counselling / disciplinary issues.

·Maintain and enhance the open-door policy to all associates providing advice and guidance when needed regarding their issues or concerns and/or grievances

·Ensure that the hotels are fully compliant with Wyndham people processes and deadlines that govern all Wyndham properties. i.e., AES, Success Matters, Probation reviews etc.

·Ensure that the administration of the 3-month/5-month review process in the operational departments and ensure that follow-up for all issues is done in timely manner and results of both follow-up and the initial reviews are communicated to all relevant parties

·Talent Reviews are alive and active, and the target audience know why they are so important

·Ensure 100% compliance with all mandatory training for departments; as well as the Departmental Trainers positively encouraged

·Control the LTO in the operational departments in conjunction with the DHR to ensure that any areas of concern and monitored and rectified.

·Conduct regular coaching sessions with HOD’s to further develop both their technical and management skills.

·Manage the AES process for the operational departments ensure that the follow up meetings are done, and the staff members have timely feedback.

·Conduct interviews for all Supervisory and HOD positions

·Review manning and re-recruitment of all positions

·Ensure that you dine in the team member restaurant at least three times a week and provide DHR feedback

Communication

·To conduct or chair regular communication meetings with team(s) and actively participate in relevant business meetings to facilitate effective communication.

·Conducted weekly documented 121’s with all direct reports

·Share all relevant information with GM in weekly 121’s

·Monthly HOD Meeting

·Weekly Exec Com Meeting

·Quarterly all Hotel Meeting

·Monthly Business Review Meeting

Finance

·Prepare the expenses budget in conjunction with HOD’s

·Ensure vacation, PH and lieu days are used to the needs of the business

·Review with the DoF/DHR the payroll figures and challenge the HOD’s with regards to overspending and casual usage

·Ensure that the payroll is submitted to HR on the agreed date

Management

·Train and develop the team and provide support when required

·Ensure all direct reports have a PDP to achieve their goals

·Ensure that effective communication flow is always maintained

·Actively participate in the community involvement projects and initiatives together with the hotel’s management team

·Maintaining a business environment based on the Code of Conduct and Company Vision

Minimum Experience

·Previous experience as a Director of Revenue in the Middle East in a 5* hotel.

·Computer Literacy, Proficient in Opera User

·Experience in managing the Reservations Department.

·Budgeting and strategic planning experience and problem-solving skills

·Pre-opening previous experience in Middle East Upscale/Luxury Brand is a plus

·Candidate must be able to effectively communicate ideas in verbal and written presentations.

·Pre-opening experience is required

Any other reasonable duties as directed by the General Manager/Regional Revenue Manager.
