Manage maintenance operations of Resort facility, including but not limited to guest rooms, building structure, all mechanical, electrical, H.V.A.C. systems, power plant, water plant and landscaping. To lead preventative maintenance and energy conservation standards and programs. Ensure the upkeep of guest and service areas to maintain them in proper working order and appearance. Coordinate all opening, renovation, expansion and special projects as required.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Supervises and monitors the performance and daily activities of the maintenance staff, assigns jobs, work schedules and prioritize work load to ensure optimum productivity and timely response.
Consistently provides on-the-job supervision and training, provides necessary technical information for repair, maintenance, operation, modification, replacement and new construction activities to ensure that all jobs are being done correctly.
Works closely with other departments to coordinate the engineering work activities, identifying repairs and maintenance requirements in order to minimize adverse impact and maximize a timely response.
Performs Human Resource management functions in accordance with established policies and procedures in terms of hiring, disciplinary actions, counseling and performance management in conjunction with the Director of Engineering to develop a highly skilled and motivated staff.
Advises and confers with Director of Engineering on the effective and conservative use of heat, light, power and water programs and policies in order to maintain efficient consumption and low utility costs.
Participates in efforts to evaluate and update administrative systems that relate to the spare parts and supplies, time and materials, inventory control, preventative maintenance, project control and work order system to provide the hotel with the most up-to-date programs and procedures.
