We are currently looking for a Chief Accountant for the company’s 5-star property in Abha, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This 5-star property that features 120 luxurious rooms & suites that are fully equipped with the latest in technology and comfort, state-of-the-art health club, an exclusive spa, and two restaurants with an outdoor terrace that offers breathtaking views of the city.


Duties and Responsibilities:

-Ensures accurate and timely submission of information to the Financial Controller

-Ensures proper controls for cash handling and brings any discrepancies to the attention of the Financial Controller

-All work is carried out in accordance with hotel accounting and financial controls under the supervision and functional guidance of the Financial Controller, within the hotel policies and procedures, in line with hotel and corporate policies and guidelines, and the hotel’s business plan.

-Responsible for knowing critical functions within the department and capable of mentoring and   assisting employees within the department.

-Utilizes teamwork to develop departmental synergy.
-Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and company procedures.
- Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and   reports.
- Assures compliance with federal, state, local and corporate policies, regulations and laws.
- Reviews accounts payables and weekly check runs.
- Determines proper handling of financial transactions and approves transactions within designated  limits.
- Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts, cost centers and documents business transactions.
- Responsible for distributing financial statements and cost center reports.
- Responsible for monthly verification of payroll with the coordination of HR including incentives,overtime, etc. and monthly accrual for staff benefits & make general entries accordingly.
- Responsible for daily petty cash handling, reconciliation and timely submission of petty cash expenses   for approval & reimbursement of petty cash
- Responsible for verification of income auditing, receivables & debtors reconciliation.
- Prepares work papers and supporting schedules for the annual financial review.
- Distributes monthly comparison reports and cost center reports according to schedules.
- Prepares financial statements and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position.
- Analyzes transactional processes and identify areas where additional accuracies and efficiencies can be   achieved.
- Closely maintains and monitors the fixed assets system.
- Applies cost accounting methods to achieve accurate representation of cost center performance.
- Responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of inventory controls and cost controls.
- Assists with monthly forecast & annual budgets – prepares all allocations
- Coordinates monthly closing process and reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
- Responsible for all taxes obligations.
- Supports the hotel’s mission, vision, values and goals in the performance of daily activities.
- Develops and implement various accounting procedures.
- Preparation of the monthly statutory accounts and consolidated financial statements                             - Works with both internal and external auditors during financial and operational audits.
- Maintains system of accounts and keep records on all company transactions and assets.
- Reports, analyzes, and ensures integrity of all financial information.                                                         - Shows involvement and be interested in environmental and/or social issues by participating in     responsible Business hotel and departmental activities.
-Accepts flexible working schedule when necessary for the Hotel’s uninterrupted service.
-Co-operative to the entire team for all other duties and do direct job or indirect job to be one team.               -May be required to undertake other duties or you may work in another department from time to time as the Hotel may require according to the business requirement
 

The ideal candidate should have:

-Current experience in a similar role

-Minimum 3-5 years relevant experience in financial & management accounting in hospitality industry

-Certified public accountant or completed Degree in Accounting/Finance/ACCA qualification

-Positive attitude and good communication skills

-Relevant experience in audit and costing is advantageous

-Excellent strategic planning skills and able to interact with all levels

-Good MS Office skills particularly strong capabilities in MS Excel

-Able to work independently and highly meticulous

-Ability to work well under time pressure
