Job Summary

This is a key role which provides a high level of generalist knowledge and skill in human resources to support both business and human resource objectives, as well as contribute significantly in all aspects of strategic business leadership and operations management.

The successful incumbent will work within appropriate business guidelines, but generally works with considerable independence on market based issues and initiatives including but not limited to developing operating plans and related operational processes to lead implementation and sustainability of all human resource and brand strategies, policies and programs and driving alignment with broader business objectives. The incumbent works with individual DHR/HR Property leaders to provide functional guidance and compliance to all Company Policies (SOPs, LSOPs, MIPs) including talent acquisition, succession/workforce planning, performance management and development for property employees, using technology efficiently, compensation and benefits, employee relations and local country regulations. As a member of multiple leadership teams, the incumbent develops and implements strategies across properties that deliver products and services to meet or exceed the needs and expectations of the brand's target customer and property employees and provide a return on investment to the owner and broader organizational interests while developing and implementing efficiencies in a market.

  • This role is based in Cape Town.
  • Bachelor's degree/university degree or equivalent HR experience required.
  • At least 5 years of experience at HR Director level required (ideally including Operational experience as pre- opening DHR).
  • Previous experience operating at a regional or continent level is a plus.
  • SPHR or CIPD or other types of HR certifications preferred.
  • Business Travel from 50-60% depending upon business needs. .
