  • Individual MUST be Graduate or Post Graduate with Majors in Finance
  • Prior African experience will be highly preferred
  • Manage the finance and accounting activities with a team of 15 and report to the owners
  • MUST have experience in properties with over 350 rooms
  • Prior exposure in real estate, commercial property and asset management is a big advantage
  • Must have at least 3 years’ experience as a Financial Controller with an international hotel or resort brand
  • Only such candidates who are travelling on Single Status are considered for this role

Our client is managing a well-known luxury hotel located in key capital city of Africa. To manage the overall finance and accounting activities of this property, we are now searching for an experienced and highly skilled Financial Controller.

The Finance expert must have extensive work experience with leading hotels or resort operations preferably in mixed used properties and being responsible for the overall business and financial management including profitability.

Candidates with the following professional profile would be most suitable for the job:

  • Minimum 10-12 years’ experience within hospitality industry and 3 years as a Financial Controller or as Director of Finance
  • Prior African experience is highly desirable
  • Must have formal education in Finance and Management
  • Candidate with pre-opening experience will have an added advantage
  • Candidate MUST have exceptional communication skills in English - second European languagae would be an advantage
  • Able to manage and coach a team of 15 people working in the finance department
  • Maintain excellent relations with suppliers, banks, government organisations and stake-holders
  • Capable of implementing IT solutions required by the finance division
  • Showcase a strong emphasis on monitoring, managing and controlling costs
  • Prepare realistic forecasts and plan ahead for budgets and costs
  • Excellent accounting and cost management skills
  • Must have extensive knowledge of various accounting softwares as well as Opera and MIcros
  • Has the ability to make sound business decisions
  • Must be a practical and logical thinker
  • Manage the preparation of the strategic business and operating plans
  • Remain “hands-on” with an ability to delegate and manage the activities
  • Has strong leadership and mentoring skills to guide the finance department and individual departments
  • Cohort with individual department heads for the success of the business
