POSITION PURPOSE Responsible for soliciting new business, entertaining and maintaining relationships with existing accounts, overseeing client functions to ensure customer satisfaction, and representing and promoting the hotel’s F&B services in the community. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Prospect new accounts within the local market as well as client management of existing accounts meet/exceed revenue goals through business development, telephone solicitation, sales calls, site inspections and written communication. • Attend community/social events and industry meetings. Develop/maintain knowledge of market trends, competition and customers. • Prepare weekly C&B forecast to report in weekly Revenue/Sales meeting and compile data for strategic sales plan, monthly SMARTS report, annual goals and other reports as directed/required. • Work with F&B team to develop banquet menus pricing and revenue minimums using current competitive data. • Actively participate in catering sales presentations, property tours and customer meetings. • Participate in daily business review meeting, sales meetings and management meetings. • Detail all PDR functions. Work with other departments within the hotel to provide quality service to customers. • Prepare correspondence to customers, internal booking reports and file maintenance. • Tour, inspect and monitor banquet rooms and presentations. Other: • Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the restaurant. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required. • Recruit, direct, manage, train and counsel catering sales staff. Oversee divisional matters as they relate to federal, state and local employment and civil rights laws • Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with company rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the hotel’s facilities. Employees who violate hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Education High school or equivalent education required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Experience 5 years’ experience in a 5-star hotel setup with meeting facilities. Previous banquet operations & restaurant sales experience preferred.
