Objective of the Position

Hostess, in coordination with Guest Experience Manager, is responsible for greeting and facilitating guest experience by scheduling reservations, giving feedback to managers and receiving feedback from guests, maintain efficient customer flow and organizing the data base of the outlet / F&B.

Maintain complete knowledge of: 

  • Dining room layout, table/seat/section numbers, and proper table setup.
  • Room capacity, hours of operation, price range and dress code.
  • Restaurant reservation procedures.
  • Daily house count, arrivals, departures, VIP’s.
  • Scheduled in-house group activities, locations and times.
  • All departmental policies/service procedures.
  • Music & entertainment
  • Cleanliness if the hostess desk     

Main Responsibilities

To observe all security, health and safety regulations.
 To have a working knowledge of the hotel’s fire procedure, and act accordingly.
 To be polite and courteous at all times.
 To answer all telephones promptly and efficiently.
 To be fully conversant with check-in procedures.
 To know the current day’s availability.
 To be aware of all hotel facilities and services offered.
 To adhere to all hotel credit policies, taking care with chance or unconfirmed reservations.
 To be responsible for guest valuables as per safety deposit box procedures.
 To be fully conversant with check-out procedures.
 To take full responsibility for any cash float used on a shift and for any banking received.
 To post all dockets as they reach reception without delay.
 To understand the signing in and out procedures.
 To present all account to company bills with acceptable back up.
 To be aware of major currencies exchanged at the hotel, and the correct procedure applied.
 To take care of the buffet area in The Lounge– including assisting in breakfast set up, refill and clearance.
 To ensure The lounge is tidy and presentable at all times – includes clearing tables, prepare table set up for breakfast, canapés and happy hour.
 To monitor and ensure all requirements of the Level set up are available, when needed order additional and maintain stock.
 To ensure The Level Lounge follows hygiene protocol e.g. correct storage, expire date check
 To deal with all guest grievances or complaints and if necessary gain the assistance of a more senior  staff member.
 To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by senior The Level Reception staff or management.
 To monitor all aspects of VIPs’ accommodations including room assignment, amenities assignment, inspection, meeting and greeting
 To check & compile reports (arrivals, guests in house, departures, VIPS, daily rates, occupancy) and statistical data.
