  • Hotel has 1 main restaurant and a busy banqueting business accommodating up to 450 guests (sit-down)

One of West Africa's premier hotels is searching for a highly experienced and trained Pastry Chef to oversee the activities of the entire pastry/bakery division.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced and highly energetic individual who will manage pastry production for buffet, a la carte fine-dining restaurant and banquets. As Pastry Chef, you will have outstanding knowledge of bakery, chocolate, confectionery and traditional gourmet desserts. You will be a leader with a passion and flair for running a high-end kitchen and pushing your team to produce the best possible results.

Key Profile:

  • 5 Star International Hotel background (Middle-East, Asia or Africa)
  • Minimum 7 – 8 years Pastry experience
  • Experience in managing up to 10 staff
  • Should be highly creative and innovative with product development and presentation
  • Must have a proven background in managing events of 500 plus pax
  • Organisational skills in directing pastry operations for multiple outlets
  • Strong English language skills (written, spoken)
  • Hands-on, strong leadership skills and background in high-end units
  • Excellent working knowledge of Pastry/Bakery/Chocolate
  • Exceptional creativity and design skills
  • Prepare various dessert menus
  • Provide guests and clients with a wide variety of options during functions/events and remain prepared to be a showman when required
