Assistant Manager - Facilities
To lead the engineering and maintenance operations of the hotel along with the DOE in order to ensure a high standard of building, machinery, plant, furniture, fixture and equipment in all the departments. Achieve total guest satisfaction and organizational profitability through effective utilization of all resources.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Implement the preventive maintenance plan and upkeep of engineering services.
Implement upgrade and replacement programs for engineering systems and equipment.
Execute the energy conservation programs monitor HLP consumption on a daily basis.
Ensure that all the engineering & maintenance activities/systems adhere to the standards/efficiency/productivity levels that have been set.
Recommend changes in processes, materials and equipment, in order to enhance service levels and improve the operational efficiency.
Responsible for maintaining the physical plant and monitor the operating efficiency of the plant.
Maintain the fire safety systems through regular inspection of fire alarm and sprinkler systems.
Follow up job / work order and make periodic audit checks of completed repair and maintenance work to ensure that the established standards have been met.
Co-ordinate with Housekeeping, Front Office and other departments on preventive maintenance of rooms and other repair work.
Maintain the complaint management & maintenance request system and ensure timely response to all the complaints and maintenance requests
Ensure timely receiving of material & spares as per the standardized specifications.
Ensure that the government regulations for boilers, electrical installation and environment are strictly followed.
Keep informed of industry innovations and advances in technical and property management fields.
Involve in driving high colleague engagement in department by creating participative environment.
Undertake additional duties related to hotel operation as requested by Director, Engineering.
Implement systems and procedures that ensure safety of guest, employees, plant, machinery and property.
Staffing and scheduling of the department and allocation of duties.
Develop systems and procedures that achieve higher cost efficiency and guest satisfaction.
Facilitate learning and development for all the team members of the department.
Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements
Minimum 3 years’ experience in similar position OR similar position in hospitality industry.
Good technical skill set and communication skills.
Must have theoretical and practical knowledge about HVAC systems, Fire safety equipment, diesel generator, general servicing techniques and preventative maintenance in terms of mechanical and electrical.
Ability to work hands on with technicians at any time as per resort requirements.
Should have good chemical knowledge for water treatment systems
Must have Engineering diploma in mechanical or electrical.
