A leading Hotel chain in East Africa, is looking for a highly competent, ambitious and dynamic person to fill the position of a Resort General Manager for its flagship property. The candidate should be a hands on experienced hotelier.

The candidate’s main duties will be to maximize the efficiency of the unit in order to achieve high guest satisfaction scores, budgeted Gross Operating Profit, ensuring the maintenance of quality standards of service and the development of the business, people and product.

The desired person should have the following key characteristics:

A degree /diploma in Hotel Management from a recognized institution.

A Master’s degree in a business related field will be an added advantage.

A minimum of 10-15 years relevant experience in the hotel industry (3-5 years in a senior management position) with all round exposure in all hotel departments.

Excellent planning, organizing, communication and negotiation skills. 

Knowledge and understanding of industry legislation and best practice.

An enthusiastic and dynamic leader able to conduct, set, maintains and exceeds high quality standards commensurate with organizational expectations and creates high performing teams.

Target driven individual with the ability to work towards, and set timely performance goals/targets and clear objectives.

Ability to develop, implement, manage and monitor effective business and financial systems and procedures.

Ability to take a strategic approach to planning & business development.

Ability to appreciate and understand the impact of the role in relation to the overall aims of the Company and keep up to date on industry and job related developments.

Proven ability to work across multiple work areas on tight and challenging deadlines.

Ability to develop and influence the culture, values and structures of the organization in delivering and developing services.

Be able to lead a team to deliver high guest experiences.

Age bracket-38 years and above.

Has an appreciation of financials and is able to map routes to support maximization of top line growth through the use of the most efficient and cost effective channels. 

Should have experience in managing and maintaining resort lodgings, supplies, hospitality services and event offerings.

Team player with the ability to work with multi ethnic teams.
