Job and Duties:

  • Must ensure compliance with all restaurants policies and standards procedures
  • Should estimate daily production needs on a weekly basis and communicates production needs to kitchen personnel daily
  • Assist Chef De Partie with all kitchen operations and preparation
  • Prepares and cooks food of all types, either on a regular basis or functions
  • Develops, designs, or creates new applications, ideas, systems, or products, including artistic contributions
  • Assist in determining how food should be presented and creates decorative food display
  • Maintains purchasing, receiving and food storage standards
  • Ensures compliance with food handling and sanitation standards
  • Performs all duties of kitchen managers and employees as necessary
  • Recognizes superior quality products, presentations and flavor
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable laws regulations
  • Follows proper handling and right temperature of all food products
  • Operates and maintains all department equipment and reports malfunction
  • Checks the quality of raw cooked food products to ensure that standards are met
  • Supports the sous chef, line chefs as well as other kitchen employees in food production
  • Assists kitchen staff in maintaining high cuisine standards for function clients as well as delegates
  • Assists the line chefs in the production of different foods for example vegetables, meats and pastries
  • Assists the in ensuring that food is prepared and served to the clients on time
  • Assists the executive chef in ensuring that health and safety standards are upheld in the kitchen
  • Helps the executive chef in the development of menus
  • Assists other junior kitchen staff in ensuring that the restaurant is keep clean at all times
  • Assists the head chef in making requisitions for food
  • Assists the kitchen staff in storing all food that is left over
