Job Description

This position will appeal to a highly motivated, flexible and committed individual who enjoys working to pre agreed goals in a busy and changing environment. Manage online marketing activities for the hotel through development and monitor the representation of the hotel online. Reporting to and working closely with the Complex Director of Marketing this role will require daily communication with key department heads. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Under the guidance of the Complex Director Marketing, research and identify specific pieces of collateral required to support the operational department. This will range from hotel brochures to specific promotional requirements across the property. • Liaise with appointed Creative & Content Specialist, supplying a written brief outlining the specific objectives, target market and any additional information as required ensuring that the Director Marketing is kept aware of all progress. • Ensure that all deadlines are met and each edition is delivered to a pre-agreed timing plan. • Along with Director of Marketing identify through brainstorming sessions with key department heads opportunities to execute value-added mailings to this database in line with the hotel's revenue objectives. • Maintain positive online hotel presence by reviewing English & Arabic website, channels and third party sites. • Respond to reviews with prior approval from Complex Director of Marketing on TripAdvisor, Starwood Brand Website and any other sites on a daily basis. • Manage Local Property Sites and ensure Brand Standards compliance. • Update key digital platforms (restaurants / meetings / spa, etc.) and implement best practices to deliver increased online presence under the guidance of the Director of Marketing. • Share monthly insights on competition trends. • Supports internal and external events and social functions as required. DIGITAL • Actively develop and maintain a database of corporate and hotel email newsletter subscribers through both online and offline solicitation. • Prepare and send, with regular frequency, a corporate Email Newsletter to all guests/individuals that have subscribed to receive the hotel e-newsletter. • Develop and implement e-marketing initiatives for the hotel key feeder markets to increase the number of qualified visitors to the hotel website thus increasing revenues and conversion. • Identify and develop joint e-commerce initiatives with qualified local, regional and/or national partners/sites. • Establish and implement the hotel’s annual advertising plan for electronic channels assist on matters related to creative and media planning for PPC. • Ensure brand and marketing message on electronic channels is consistent with overall marketing activities i.e. special promotions/offers etc. • Research and Benchmark electronic media adverts and articles to ensure that the hotel remains a market leader in coordination with public relations department. • Review and monitor your hotel’s primary competition set on a regular basis and ensure/maintain competitiveness throughout the markets. • Ensure website content is always up to date in all languages available, updated according to the CMS corporate guidelines. • Liaise with the DFM team for any website enhancements and keep CDOM in loop. • Establish, develop and maintain a keyword matrix for the hotel and consider when designing website content. • Ensure all content (pictures and text) is according to corporate standards. • Create and implement promotional content for special offers and packages, in coordination with the hotel’s Marketing and Revenue Directors. • Review and amend hotel information available on website. COMMUNICATIONS • Responsible for updating the public relations Action and Editorial Plan on a regular basis with the CDOM - on behalf of the hotel and in line with the marketing plan. • To support the organization of regular visits by media professionals and members of the publications, on-line and broadcast industry to the hotel: Handling invitation responses, following up selected media, supporting the development of press kits, being a physical presence to represent the hotel for photo shoots, interviews, etc. as required with the CDOM. • Scans and copies all editorial features for the hotel, keeps display boards current. • Supports internal and external events and social functions as required. • With the CDOM, to be the eyes and ears of the local and wider market, competitors and potential opportunities. • Inform the CDOM on a daily basis of updates on Trip Advisor for any necessary actions required.


Education: Bachelor / Diploma degree required in hospitality or marketing fields preferred. Experience: At least 1 year of experience within Hotels, Marketing or Communications
