Job summary and requirements:

  • Review the daily intake of products into the hotel and ensure accurate pricing and quantity of goods received
  • Control the stores by ensuring accuracy of inventory and stock control and the pricing of good received
  • Alert Store Keeper and department heads of slow moving goods and goods nearing expiry dates to reduce waste and alter product purchasing to accommodate
  • Manage cost reporting on a weekly basis, fortnightly or as required by the operation.
  • Attend finance meetings, as required
  • Maintain good communication and working relationships with all hotel areas
  • Prepares monthly statements by collecting data; analyzing and investigating variances; summarizing data, information, and trends.
  • Responds to financial inquiries by gathering, analyzing, summarizing, and interpreting data.
  • Provides financial advice by studying operational issues; applying financial principles and practices; developing recommendations.
  • Prepares special reports by studying variances; preparing budgets; developing forecasts.
  • Updates job knowledge by keeping current with financial regulations and accepted practices; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Accomplishes finance and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Assist the Chief Accountant and the Financial Controller for the Month End procedures.
  • To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviors, skills, values and ready to take next level of position within the Finance department.
  • Previous experience in a high-volume cost control function within a hotel environment.
  • Previous experience or current working experience as Financial Accountant in International Hotel chain.
  • Computer literate, with good MS Excel skills, Micros, FBM, Material Control and Sun back office System.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Relevant degree, in Finance/Accounting or related business discipline, from an academic institution
