Qualifications

  JOB SUMMARY                             Assists the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) and the Director of Human Resources in driving the Succession Planning process across the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai to ensure that employees at all levels have structured personal and professional development and diverse high caliber talent are developed and retained.  Understands the business needs and supports HRBP in building talent development and retention solutions and processes to drive performance aligned with the overall JW Marriott brand and business strategy.
Helps drive company values and philosophy and assists HRBP to ensure that all talent development and retention activities are strategically linked to the organization’s mission and vision.  Executes against objectives outlined in the Human Resources Business Plan and delivers services that meet or exceed the needs of employees and enable business success. Ensures compliance with applicable regulations and Standard Operating Procedures SCOPE / BUSINESS CONTEXT

CANDIDATE PROFILE Experience
:
  • Experience in Human Resources Generalist Level
  • Hospitality/hotel experience desirable

  • Multi-tasking skills
  • Very good computer skills (MS Office especially MS Excel, social media tools) Education and/or Certification
  • University Degree in Human Resources or in relevant field
  • CIPD Qualification is a plus.
SPECIFIC DUTIES  Managing the Human Resources Strategy
  • Assists HRBP in executing and following-up on the Engagement Survey related activities.
  • Assists in facilitating ES debrief sessions, when needed.
  • Assists Director of Human Resources with driving completion of the ES Action Plans across the hotel
  • In charge of creating and maintaining the ES Action Plans Tracker
  • Assists HRBP in coordinating and driving  the Human Capital review Process (HCP) at property
  • Maintains all relevant HCP reports and tracking sheets .
  • Monitors effective use of myHR by property managers and employees.
  • Assists HRBP in succession management and workforce planning process.
  Managing Staffing and Recruitment Process
  • Assists HRBP in analyzing open positions to balance the development of existing talent and business needs.
  • Assists HRBP and Business Leaders with making staffing decisions to manage the talent cadre and pipeline at the property.
  • Assists HRBP in developing staffing strategy (in collaboration with hiring manager) relating to hiring practices.
  • Assists in monitoring sourcing process and outcomes of staffing process.
  • Assists HRBP in ensuring managers are competent in assessing and evaluating hourly staff.
  Managing Employee Compensation Strategy
  • Remains current and knowledgeable in the internal and external compensation and work competitive environments.
  • Assists HRBP in leading the planning of the hourly employee total compensation strategy.
  • Assists HRBP in championing the communication and proper use of total compensation systems, tools, programs, policies, etc.
  • Participates in quarterly internal equity analysis; reviews internal equity reports and surface issues needing resolution.
  • Assists HRBP in creating and implementing total compensation management packages/offers, particularly recognition and incentive programs directed towards property priorities.
  Managing Staff Development Activities
  • Assists HRBP in ensuring completion of the duties and responsibilities of the properties’ Human Resources staff members, as outlined in applicable job description(s).
  • Assists HRBP in ensuring property Human Resources staff is properly trained in all employee-related human resource information to appropriately respond to property employees.
  • Serves as resource to property Human Resources staff on employee relations questions and issues.
  • Continually reinforces positive employee relations concepts.
  Manages Employee Relations and Compensation Issues
  • Brings issues concerning employee satisfaction to the attention of the department manager and Human Resources as necessary.
  • Solicits employee feedback, utilizes an “open door” policy, and reviews employee satisfaction to identify and address employee problems or concerns.
  • Assists in conducting annual wage survey to ensure hourly rates of pay are competitive in the market.
  • Utilizes an “open door” policy to acknowledge employee problems or concerns in a timely manner.
  • Assists HRBP in ensuring hourly performance appraisals processes are in place, reviews are conducted in a timely manner, and increases are processed.
  Managing Employee Progressive Discipline Process
  • Ensures progressive discipline documentation is accurate and consistent.
  • Takes notes during the discipline meetings
  • Checks for supportive information to progressive discipline documentation and forwards information to HRBP and/or Director of Human Resources to determine appropriate action.
  • Ensures employee issues are referred to either the HRBP  Director of Human Resources or Department Manager for resolution.
  Managing Legal and Compliance Practices
  • Assists in ensuring property policies are administered fairly and consistently.
  • Assists in communicating   property rules and regulations, the progressive discipline policy, Peer Review, Employee Resource Line, Business Integrity Line, and the Guarantee of Fair Treatment during orientation and via an employee handbook.
  Managing Employee Development
  • Contributes human resource knowledge, with specialization in performance development and Associate Engagement activities to support the hotels in a designated region.
  • Supports with facilitating specified on-property training, including core required training for hourly associates, e-hiring training, training for managers around key HR activities, as needed.
  • Ensures 30-60-90 job chats, probation reviews and performance appraisals are completed on time and with quality.
