Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to Assistant Chief Engineer, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:   
  • Perform his duty as per shift, and report to his supervisor and mentor/Trainer.
  • To learn and carry out all site work during his training period and takes full interest to upgrade his work knowledge, the performance review will be carried out by Executive Chief Engineer on monthly /quarterly basis. The apprentice ship training is designed for two full years successfully completed by Apprentice.
  • To attend scheduled training program both on Job training and class room training and apply in his work.
  • Perform repair and maintenance work under close supervision and takes prior permission by his supervisor and trainer.
  • Follow safety precautions and use proper hand tools and power tools. Don't try to play with any hand or power tools might cause a serious injury etc.
  • Follow all job instructions given by his supervisor / Trainer and carry out only those jobs which he can do. Work very closely with other trade technician and keeps good work relationship.
  • Report any job related problem to his supervisor and trainer and seek his help.
  • Follow Hotel safety and security policies and procedures to ensure a clean, safe, and secure environment are provided.
  • Report work related accidents, or other injuries immediately upon occurrence to his supervisor and trainer.
  • Use proper equipment, wear appropriate personal protective equipment and use correct lifting procedures as necessary to avoid injury. Follow hazardous Material management program procedures for handling and disposing of chemicals etc.using material safety data sheets. Identify and correct unsafe work procedures or conditions and/or report them to Supervisor/Engineer. Follow policies and procedures for the safe operation and storage of tools, equipment, and machines. Complete appropriate Fire and safety trainings and certifications to perform work tasks.
  • Ensure uniform, nametags and personal appearance are clean, hygienic, professional and compliance with Hotel policies and procedures.
  • Guest Relations: Address guests service needs in a professional, positive and timely manner. Welcome and acknowledge each and every guest with smile, eye contact, and a friendly verbal greeting, using guest’s name if possible.
  • Develop and maintain positive and productive working relations with other employees and departments. Any job related complaints or grievances to be handled promptly with your Supervisor or Assistant Chief Engineer / Executive Chief Engineer.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in an Engineering Department in a luxury property preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities necessary
  • Must be a highly organized person with strong planning skills
  • Goal and results oriented
  • Analytical skills, strength as a developer and a leader of others are essential
  • International experience an asset
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, self-motivated and a charismatic team player
