Nikki Beach Spain is seeking Head Chefs.  Nikki Beach counts with 3 locations in Spain. Marbella opened in 2003, Mallorca opened 2013, Ibiza 2014. The luxurious lifestyle brand has currently 14 locations worldwide and is expanding fast. There are many career opportunities within the company and our culinary department is expanding at the same pace as the company internationally. We are therefore hiring experienced Head Chefs for our locations in Marbella and Ibiza. 

Purpose: To be the dedicated associate primarily responsible to manage all culinary operations including cleanliness & sanitation with an emphasis on maintaining hygienic standards and practices supporting Spain’s Municipality & company standards, associate training, and overseeing the preparation and presentation of a consistent quality food product which meets our customer’s expectations.

Associations: You will report directly to the General Manager – Global Director of Culinary Operations and must interact well with all Managers, restaurant guests, suppliers, business partners, other steering committee members and all associates at Nikki Beach.

Essential Functions: You must be capable of:

Managing all functions of the Food Production and Cleanliness and Sanitation to achieve the optimum departmental profit and quality level.

Overseeing special events and special food promotions.

Creating recipes and maintaining up-dated and accurate costing for all dishes prepared and sold in the Food and Beverage operation to support financial goals.

Developing and writing standard recipes.

Developing new dishes, products & revenue generating concepts.

Developing and supporting the continuous improvement of the Culinary team to ensure outstanding technical skills and product knowledge is maintained.

Maintaining comprehensive product knowledge including ingredients, equipment, vendors, markets and current trends and make appropriate adjustments to kitchen operations accordingly.

Controlling and analysing, on an on-going basis, the level of the following:

Sales    Costs   Issuing of food

Quality and presentation of food products

Condition and cleanliness of facilities and equipment

Guest satisfaction Marketing

Supporting Functions

In addition to performance of the essential functions, you may be required to perform a combination of the following supporting functions

Any other special tasks assigned on an adhoc basis by the General Manager, Global Director of Culinary Operations or the Global Director of Operations.

Work from time to time outside normal hours in order to meet reporting deadlines and take full responsibility of the Department thereby extending my support whenever needed.

Specific Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Aside the essential and supporting duties mentioned above, there are some key attributes that you possess and this includes:

Service :Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.

Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Considerable knowledge of complex mathematical calculations and computer accounting programs.  Budgetary analysis capabilities required.

Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.

Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, empathy, tact and diplomacy to diffuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve conflicts.

Personal  Ensuring proper work discipline and smooth communications and team work between Culinary Operations and other Departments.

Being in possession of good planning and organizing skills and be proactive to address and resolve issues at all times.

Having the ability to work in a fast paced work environment and be a team player with first class people skills.

Grooming  Maintaining a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance as per Nikki Beach Grooming Guidelines.

General / Miscellaneous Being thorough and familiar with the Restaurants emergency procedures and be in a state of preparedness for any emergency that may occur.

Strong leadership, supervisory, analytical, and project management skills.

Experience with budgetary processes; cost control/revenue maximization.

Physical Demands Being aware that most work tasks in my job function is performed indoors where temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems.

Always projecting enthusiasm, energy and involvement in my communication with guests, supervisors and other associates.

Qualification Standards You must have a high school degree or equivalent education.

Experience You should have several years’ experience in the overall management of culinary operations.

Hands-on experience in culinary operations as an all-rounder with experience in multiple cuisines.

Licenses or Certificates

Hold European passport to work in Spain

Ability to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses, certificates or permits.
