A beautiful resort located in one of Michigan’s top recreational areas near the Pere Marquette River, 200 miles from Detroit and not far from Grand Rapids across the Lake Michigan’s Green Bay and Milwaukee, seeks an Executive Chef who will be responsible for the operations and management of restaurants and banquet facilities. 

As this resort is owned by one of the largest and most respected manufacturing companies in the world and most of your guests are business people (majority of them attending conferences), the Executive Chef is expected to create their own menus and can start their own vegetable and herb gardens if they wish.  We are searching for someone who is a career minded individual and who can take complete ownership and accountability of all daily planning and preparation of the menu; i.e. “run the restaurants as their own”!       

You must be a great communicator and a hands-on leader responsible for a beautiful dining room, an up market all-day restaurant and excellent meeting facilities at this resort.

The ideal candidate will be dynamic, energetic, keen and personable.  A self-motivated professional who excels in service, strives for excellence and is very food and labor cost driven.  You must also process excellent leadership, teaching and training skills, and not be afraid of getting your hands dirty.

Our client is keenly interested in identifying an individual who will totally focus on producing outstanding cuisine to its guests.

The Executive Chef should have at least 5 years’ experience in a senior role (an Executive Sous Chef will also be considered) in a luxury destination Resort, with a proven accomplished background and possesses the knowledge and expertise in the finer aspects of food service. 

Compensation package based on experience (housing available).
