Supply Chain Department

Job Description

•Manage purchasing activities and supervise purchasing personnel.
•Knowing the market and the product in order to deliver the best to the hotel operation following Starwood and country requirements.
•Making sure smooth operation of purchasing department.
•Adapting Starwood Policies and Procedures as per local requirement.
•Implement sound purchasing policies, systems and procedures in accordance with group standards.
•Research and development of new products and services for the hotel.
•Calls for quotations and inquire into prices from various suppliers. Ensuring that minimum of three genuine quotations is obtained.
•Follows up and ensures that goods are delivered in accordance with the purchase order and without any delay.
•Keep backup plan in case items cannot be delivered on a timely basis
•Establish contracts to ensure reduced pricing for all operating areas of hotel.
•Monitor vendors for quality, service and price through standard purchasing satisfaction.
•Receives proper purchase requisition from Head of Departments.
•Raises the Local Purchase Order in the name of supplier selected.
•Receives market list from the Executive Chef on daily basis and arranges for delivery of those items daily.
•Ensuring that the administrative procedures relating to the purchase of goods are followed.
•Ensuring that the suppliers follow the rule relating to hygiene of goods delivered.
•Keeps all records for audit purpose and for timely information.
•Maintains all documents, files and listing up to-date in the most efficient manner.
•Carries out regular market survey prices for all items and services for the hotel by keeping constant touch with the suppliers.
•Liaison with Purchasing Clerk, Receiving Agent, Stores Supervisor, F&B Cost Controller and Department Heads
•Plan, prioritize, and execute purchasing strategy to maximize the leveraging opportunities presented by hotel
•Identify opportunities to standardize and consolidate products and services for the hotel, ensure implementation of standardized programs.
•Manage, lead and train talents.
•Manage supplier-partner relationships to ensure contract compliance. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, talents may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required
•Upon employment, all talents are required to fully comply with Starwood rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the hotel’s facilities.
•Be familiar and implement Starwood supply chain policies and procedures and all finance policies and procedures that relates to the procurement function.


Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Minimum of 3 years procurement experience preferred.

Licenses or Certificates
Must have a UAE driving License.
