Join us as an Executive Sous Chef and support our  dynamic Kitchen Department at the Holiday Inn Abu Dhabi.
 
As an Executive Sous Chef  you will be in charge of the Kitchen Department in the managing the hotel’s daily Culinary activities. Kitchen areas include Main Kitchen, Outlets Kitchen, Pastry & Bakery and Banquet Kitchen.


 
Under the general guidance of the General Manager and within the limits of IHG Policy and Procedure ,Is responsible for overall Culinary operation and   administration including the preparation or reporting and relevant record keeping. Plays the leading role in promoting the desired work culture around “Our Winning Ways”.  You'll provide support to the General Manager and ensure consistent service delivery to enhance our guest's for an authentic and memorable experience dining experience.
 

Further to your role, you'll be responsible for the smooth running of the kitchen and will manage areas of profit, stock, wastage control, hygiene practices and training within the kitchen. You will actively guide and direct the kitchen brigade to ensure consistency of brand standards and a high level of performance and presentation. Also you will be responsible for managing and motivating your team.  You will be required to ensure that all staff within your department are adequately trained and developed in line with company policy.  You will also be responsible for the Recruitment and Selection of your team and for managing any Employee Relations issues with the support of the Human Resources Department.  You will actively guide and direct the whole team to ensure consistency of brand standards and a high level of performance and service delivery.
 
 
 
 
You’ll have ambition, talent and obviously, willingness to learn. Because, for this vital role, we’re looking for someone who can initiate, drive and execute all Hotel’s Culinary activities that will increase and maintain our Guest Love and Guest Experience.
 
Ideally you'll have minimum 1 year experience in a similar role or you're a strong experienced Sous Chef  and ready to take the next step. Must have 4-5 star hotel experience in operation and  experience in leading and developing a team.  You'll have high attention to detail and be driven to achieve desired results through the key performance indicators associated with guest and colleague satisfaction.
 
Ultimately, you will be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication in English.   You will be a self-starter and you will be able to demonstrate understanding of the business and link the business environment to IHG commitments; have a high level of drive for results and ability to lead and motivate team members to achieve the results; will be adaptable and flexible with the ability to build relationships in a multi-cultural environment and gain trust and support of team members and senior managers. You will have the ability to exhibit strong decision making skills to deliver brand service standards resulting in highest guest satisfaction.  You will possess a high level of integrity to lead by example and gain respect of peers and colleagues
