Job Purpose:

Under the general guidance of the Marketing & PR Manager,  the Social Media Executive will be responsible for the execution of Mondrian Doha's Social Media Strategy and programs. This role works closely with Corporate Office to define and implement campaigns that drive awareness, create buzz, grow our reach and support our lifestyle.

Duties & Functions:

  • Manage and maintain property communities across all of our social media presences such as Tumblr, Facebook, Foursquare, Instagram, Twitter, Youtube, Tripadvisor etc
  • Responsible for growing brand awareness and reach for Mondrian Doha and markets
  • Develop and optimize engaging campaigns that are relevant for their market and ensure that the campaigns support and work in concert with the corporate social media strategy
  • Promote campaigns and content, manage conversations within our social channels, and interact with guests as appropriate
  • Develop and maintain property social media calendar
  • Partner and build relationships with local/regional PR and events/nightlife teams, sales and marketing, and Director of Sales & Marketing to plan evergreen social campaigns and event specific initiatives
  • Organize and publish content as required to appropriate channels and platforms
  • Compile social media reports and analysis using tools such as reviewpro
  • Understand basic social media techniques and methodologies and use them to support development/execution of campaigns and make recommendations to the Marketing and PR Manager
  • Passion for identifying emerging trends in the digital and social media space and leading innovation
  • Ensure a presence at any Hotel sponsored event(s) to cover live social activity and asset collection

Specific Job Knowledge & Skills:

  • University or College Degree in Marketing, PR, Media Studies or related field required
  • One years prior experience of either community management, digital, or agency experience
  • One years experience in customer service, creative, PR communications, or event marketing
  • Experience of interacting with customers through social media platforms on behalf of Brands
  • Broad and deep familiarity with social media platforms, online community tools, including forums, discussion, blogs, rating & reviews
  • Immersed in and opinioned about social media management best practices
  • Constant personal and professional use of a mix of social media tools including Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Blogs, YouTube, Digg, Flickr, Four Square, Vimeo,, Tumblr etc
  • Conversant in SEO/SEM, web analytics, web technology, mobile campaigns, community, creative/brand
  • Excellent interpersonal skills supporting a team environment
  • Ability to integrate with virtual and local market teams
  • Collaborative, Communicative with Superlative and prolific writing. High emotional intelligence and online social skills
  • Ability to recognize and react to changing work demands and nontraditional hours
  • Ideal, but not required - a genuine interest in cutting edge culture; Music; Fashion; Art and Film
  • Experience of working with third party agencies – Advertising, PR, Digital content, Printing & Production
  • Possess a gracious, friendly, and fun demeanor
  • Ability to multitask, work in a fast paced environment and have a high level attention to detail
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English and preferably Arabic
  • Maintain positive and productive working relationships with other employees and departments
  • Ability to work independently and to partner with others to promote an environment of teamwork
