We currently have an opportunity for a Manager, Communications role for One & Only Bahrain, our luxury 5-star Resort in the Bahrain. This position will provide a professional, advisory and executive support service to the General Manager & Director of Sales and Marketing to assist in meeting strategic goals within the Communications discipline. To oversee the Communications functions of the Department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Personally build clear and open lines of communication with all departments
  • Understand and abide by all Government laws relating to the Sales and Marketing department.
  • Develop strategies and initiatives to increase resort’s market share and drive awareness and ultimately revenue.
  • Develop all communication standards with precise detail and excellence.
  • Assist with the monitoring and controlling of all financial aspects of the business including the preparation of the annual communications plan.
  • Responsible for all Public Relations and communication with the media, influencers and the community.
  • Build a team with different opinions, skills, experiences, and backgrounds; leverage personal, cultural, and functional differences to optimize team performance.
  • Align activities with overall business strategy; understand short- and long-term impact of business decisions.
  • Work in conjunction with the Director of F&B communicating and promoting Food and Beverage, including driving day visitation
  • Together with the DOSM, plan and develop marketing and communications strategies via internet, GDS, media, placement of advertising as directed, printed materials and other sales & promotional tools as directed.
  • Knowledge of conducting regular on going communications across traditional and social media including creative events, key account appointments, trade shows and activity programs to ensure all important contacts are regularly updated and entertained, keeping brand top of mind.
  • Ability to develop and maintain rapport with key community contacts to ensure a visible presence in the community.
  • Development of strong content for impactful storytelling, as well as development of strong assets

  • Provide support in reputation management situations and assist in managing the distribution of relevant messaging

  • Provide monthly reporting
  • The goal is to build engagement among a highly targeted group to inspire and elevate the overall brand experience using the online and social space, as well as traditional media and community relations to support conversion while also ensuring reputation management is reflective of the One&Only DNA. 
  • A key element will be engaging and amplifying all content relevant to the GCC market in Arabic.

Experience, Skills and Knowledge:

  • Minimum of 3 years in international communications, preferably with a luxury brand  
  • Experience working with luxury brands or within the luxury hospitality / travel area
  • Command of English and Arabic languages (verbal and written); Native Arabic speaker is a must
  • Proof reading experience is strongly preferred
  • Up to date on the latest trends
  • Strong media and influencer contacts
  • Experience creating and monitoring content
  • Experience working across various platforms
  • Advanced computer literacy and detail knowledge of Microsoft Office; Knowledge photo editing software beneficial
  • Ability to develop and manage relationships with agencies, resort teams, and other key stakeholders
  • Detail oriented, with strong organization and problem solving skills
  • A self-motivated, strong team player with the ability to work and adapt under pressure
  • Ability to think strategically and communicate clearly
