The Westin Doha Hotel & Spa, located in the heart of Doha, is set to become the business ultimate destination & entertainment center.
The hotel is the 4th Starwood property in Qatar; it will count with 365 rooms & suites including 2 presidential suites and 5 bungalows, 5 restaurants & bars, almost 3000sqm of meeting & events facilities, business center, dedicated female and male Spa area, 2 outdoor & 1 indoor pools, and a state-of-the-art fitness center.
Learning & Development
•To provide a proactive and supportive Training service, upholding the goal of Hotel goals of ASI, GSI and Profitability.
•To ensure that the Training Department is approachable, helpful and meets the needs of our ‘customers’ at all times.
•To be responsible of the administration of the department
•To assist the Learning and Development Manager to develop and implement trainings which embrace Starwood values and ensure that all employees are treated in a positive, fair and supportive manner throughout their employment.
•To develop or source innovative and cost effective training initiatives which meet hotel and individual needs and support employees to achieve both their work and personal goals.
•To conduct training such as our Induction Program and Starwood Core Modules.
•Liaise with the Departmental Training Administrators on a regular basis regarding specific training requirements within their Departments.
•Assist the Learning and Development Manager to publish an annual and quarterly calendar of training courses and ensure maximum attendance through clear communication and to liaise with Departmental on a regular basis.
•Develop and conduct training courses scheduled in the training calendar, tailoring courses where appropriate to meet requirements of the Hotel.
•With support of the Learning and Development Manager, ensure all training expenses are kept in line with the Training budget, adjusting planned expenses / actions in line with changing Hotel requirements.
•Ensure proactive participation in all Quality initiatives and support Black Belts to roll out quality programs in line with Starwood policy.
•Take full responsibility for Hotel induction program (permanent and casual induction) tailoring program to meet departmental and Hotel requirements. Ensure Employee Handbook is updated on a regular basis with all relevant changes.
•Assist Learning and Development Manager to complete annual Continuity Plan and seek opportunities to support employees in their career goals with Starwood or other agreed direction.
•Ensure effective roll-out of new Starwood initiatives (such as Performance Compass, Progress) through provision of effective training and coaching of employees.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be proficient in local language and English. If English is the local language the individual must be proficient in one additional language.
