This exciting role will generate continuous improvement in RGI, Heartbeat F&B scores and employee engagement. Ensure flawless implementation of Brand F&B Standards and F&B Programs. Ensure continuous F&B financial improvement. Works closely with the Operations and the AGM. Develop and maintain a "best in class" hotel F&B support structure. 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - (Key Activities)
Leadership-Sets clear objectives for F&B operations department, which cascade down to all positions. Exhibits leadership by example. Exercises effective coaching and listening skills. Understands and reinforces IHG's operating principles, including the IHG Steering Wheel and its four sections: Financial Returns, Responsible Business, Our People and Guest Experience. Supports and communicates IHG's F&B Philosophy Statements. Meets or exceeds department's employee engagement targets. Provides functional leadership and direction to Banquets/Catering and Beverage specialists.
Financial Management-Works closely with Operations to ensure that  F&B financial objectives are met. Works with F&B department's financial analyst to discover opportunities to exceed plan. Uses Monthly F&B Financial Report to establish short term department focus. Directs the development and preparation of short and long range plans and budgets based upon broad and specific goals and growth objectives, periodically presenting plans for review and approval. Assists with forecasting, purchasing practices, inventory management, and ROI projections/analysis as needed.
Identifies "best practices" from property operations and shares with team. Develops and executes plans and initiatives that consistently achieve desired F&B sales and profitability targets. Directs F&B Operations' resources to support RGI, F&B Heartbeat and Employee Engagement objectives. Strives to achieve above-system results in Heartbeat scores and sales when compared to the competitive set.

Training- Works with the Training Department to ensure optimal delivery and results from IHG's F&B Director training program. Supports the IHG Bartender Academy's training programs. Encourages hotel participation with non-required training. Supports the IHG Culinary Academy's training programs. Encourages hotel participation with non-required training. Supports, improves F&B workshops. Assists in refining, improving and developing additional training as requested.
F&B Programs- Possess a thorough understanding of - and supports - Brand Standard F&B Programs such as Crowne Meeting Director™, Supports its services and benefits including quarterly promotions, special menus and special promotions, 
Concept, Program and Innovation Testing- Works on Concepts & Innovation, to conduct successful testing of concepts, programs, and other innovations developed for ultimate F&B Operation's implementation. Implements or collaborates on the implementation of F&B concepts, F&B programs, F&B Brand Standards and other F&B innovations as directed.
Team Management- Holds periodic meetings with team.  Conducts F&B Operations Department Employee Engagement surveys as directed, creates and achieves plans to improve employee engagement levels.  Assists with sourcing and interviewing hiring Executive Chefs and other key F&B executives at the property as needed.
Internal & External Relationships -Possesses a thorough understanding of the IHG organization, with an emphasis on Operations and the departments that support Operations. Forms positive working relationships withGeneral Managers,  and other property level personnel as is appropriate. Understands and is comfortable working and communicating with IHG internal departments including Brand Management, Brand Innovation, Procurement, Training, Hotel Performance Support, , Human Resources, Development, Marketing , Finance. Understands and is comfortable working and communicating with external companies supporting F&B, including food and beverage suppliers and distributors, consulting firms. 

Graduate/ Post Graduate degree in Hotel Administration or relevant discipline preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Certified Food and Beverage Executive (CFBE). Industry certifications commensurate with experience. Industry workshops, seminars and classes commensurate with experience.
Experience -
At least 6 to 8 years of leadership experience in creative and high quality food and beverage multi-unit environments that offer varied styles, ambiance and products including 5-star hotel and/or fine dining operations.  Met or exceeded F&B budgets.
Technical skills and Knowledge -Demonstrated ability to develop and cost menus and labor schedules. Demonstrated ability to understand, develop, and teach fundamental Food & Beverage concepts such as Menu, Engineering and Theoretical Food Cost Analysis. Demonstrated understanding of profit and loss statements and ability to read and analyze an F&B P&L statement. Demonstrated ability to use computerized software to develop and submit report and costing information. Demonstrated knowledge of local health and safety regulations as they relate to the F&B operation.
Other Information-
Work will be performed in a regular office environment.
