About the Role

An exciting role has arisen in the Housekeeping department at Madinat Jumeirah Resort for a highly motivated and hardworking individual. The main purpose of this position is to makes all flower decorations for the hotel, sister hotel or outside catering according to the needs as per standards set by the hotel. 

Your main duties will include:  

  • Creates new ideas in flower arranging in order to continue improving standards at all times.

  • Rosters team according to operation requirements.

  • Reports punctually on duty, wear correct uniform and name badge at all times.

  • Provides professional and courteous service at all times.

  • Carefully checks quality and quantity of flowers received.

  • Make sure all flower will order according to the daily requirements. 

  • Returns rejected flowers or plants to the wholesaler.

  • Sorts flowers accordingly to kind and size and keep them in adequate containers.

  • Makes flower arrangements according to the specific locations.

  • Ensures that flowers are refreshed and replenished when needed.

  • Ensures that all orders are fulfilled as per requisitions.

  • Has a complete understanding of and adhere to the hotel’s policy relating to fire, hygiene, health and safety issues.

  • Responds to any changes in the housekeeping function as dictated by the hotel.

  • Reports to the Floral Designer or his designate any damaged or missing items.

  • Maintains a high standard of hygiene and sanitation at all times.

  • Participates in multi-skilling philosophy of the department.

  • Is present and active in the training session provided by the hotel.

  • Is fully aware of and understands the Departmental Performance Plan.

  • Ensure the flower, arrangements or bouquets are not issued without any proper requisition.

  • Should take daily flower inventory and hand over to order taker and ensure copy will hand over to Floral Designer in next day morning.

  • Ensure all the original/copy invoices and in house charges forms are handed over to Floral Designer daily.

  • Make daily flower expenses reports charging the various sections or outlets as per their requisition.

  • Prepares purchase request according to the outlet’s requisitions and daily operation.

  • Is aware of the company’s Quality Policy, Vision, Mission Statement, Guiding Principles and Hallmarks and ensuring that these are put into practice in our daily work activities

  • Ensures sufficient florist supplies are available at all times.

    About You

    In order to be considered for this role you must have 2 year experience as a Florist in a 5-star hotel. You must have basic knowledge of computers and FBM / Adaco. Be able to communicate English effectively.
