Food & Beverage Server Trainees

Hotel Overview:   Reigning from Bermuda's highest point, over a majestic 100 acre estate, The Fairmont Southampton is located on the southern shore of Bermuda. Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Assistant Maitre'd, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
  • Greeting all guests with enthusiasm,  providing professional, friendly and engaging service
  • Assisting the Food & Beverage Servers as required
  • Assisting with serving food and beverage orders efficiently
  • Maintaining full current knowledge of food and beverage including special promotions items as well as other products and services
  • Checking guest satisfaction through service, resolving minor problems and promptly reporting complex problems
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, tidy, organized, well stocked work area including assigned tables
  • Ensuring stations are adequately stocked
  • Ensuring tables are properly set, cleared and reset throughout shift; including checking linens, china, glassware etc are in good condition
  • Maintaining a professional appearance and relationships with colleagues
  • Participating in various meetings and training programmes
  • Following outlet policies, procedures and service standards including all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
  • Other duties as assigned
 

Qualifications:

  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, team, communication (verbal and written), observation, organization and problem solving skills
  • Be accountable, reliable, flexible and detail oriented
  • Willing to accept and carry out instructions with a good attitude
  • Able to work efficiently under pressure in a fast paced multi-cultural environment
  • Able to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
  • Be focused on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
  • Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 15-20 lbs
  • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps

Visa Requirements:   Only applicants who are Bermudian, a Spouse of Bermudian or hold a Permanent Resident's Certificate are eligible for this position.
