Our client is a leading Maldives resort management company currently seeking an experienced Training & Development Manager to lead its training activities.

Our client is a leading Maldives resort management company currently seeking an experienced Training & Development Manager to lead its training activities.

 

THE ROLE

* Ensure that the Training and Development Department fully supports the resorts in maintaining and improving levels of staff performance so that guests receive skilled service and through the Sponsorship Scheme, create a pool of educated future managers with some international exposure who then can play a key role of the company’s future development

* Manage the training and development function in all the resorts, ensuring a high level of facilitation, course design, needs analysis, follow up and administration as per company standards and policies.

* Research, design and develop training programs based on annual needs assessments. This may include developing new courses and training material.

* Facilitate training as per resort training programs in all resorts. Training consists of both on the job and classroom training and is to be carried out in close co-operation with the relevant departmental Managers.

* Evaluate effectiveness of training interventions to ensure they add value to business strategy, goals and objectives.

* Supervise the work of Assistant Training & Development Manager and Trainers. Quality assures all training to ensure high standards are maintained and consistent throughout all resorts.

* Administer, coordinate, monitor and follow up on all aspects of the Sponsorship Program and Graduate Management Training Programme. Ensure the welfare of sponsored students in terms of proper accommodation, sufficient and timely allowances, etc.

* Maintain good working relationships with local and international universities and colleges, motivate, encourage and monitor progress of sponsored students.

* Coordinate and monitor all external training for all resorts

* Arrange industrial placements and internships for sponsored students.

* Identify the training and development needs within the company.

* With the assistance of departmental managers, complete training plans monthly and annually.

* Prepare career development plans for local staff

* Prepare the training budget for the company.

* Prepare and submit the monthly training report to Chief Executive Officer

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE

* Female, single and aged 35 to 50 years old

* Of European, South African, Australian, New Zealander nationality

* At least 5 years of Training & Development experience with 2 years at a manager level within an internationally branded hotel

* Cluster or group level experience an advantage 

* Educated to a Degree level in a relevant field

* Practical experience within Food & Beverage and Rooms divisions

* Good health and fitness given remote location, alcohol consumption within reasonable limits

* Outgoing, sociable, friendly, courteous, kind & cheerful.

 

ON OFFER

* A highly competitive salary of US$3,500 net per month

* Contract Term: Two years minimum

* Eligible for 1 to 2 months salary annual bonus plan

* Single accommodation, laundry services& uniform

* Health Insurance (limitations apply) & paid sick leave

* 1 day off/week (can accumulate to maximum 8 days)

* 30 days annual paid vacation leave after completing one year contract

* 11 annual public holidays (can combine with days off or annual leave, only)

* Economy class airfare to report to work/home leave
