C. DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS

Business Function

• Lead and direct the marketing and PR function on hotel level, create and implement all departmental strategies within budget guidelines and ROI targets

• Oversee execution of all B2B and B2C marketing and PR strategies, whether local, regional or global, across all available channels, ensuring brand adherence and effectiveness

• Responsible for measuring the success of all marketing and PR activities, and producing performance reports for all key stakeholders

• Head up and champion all media relations activities throughout the hotel ensuring all media and press kits are up to date, media visits are executed perfectly and press releases, features, events, newsletters, brochures are delivered and accomplished to an outstanding level

• Be in charge and lead all internal communications initiatives and strategies to include developing stories, filming, responding to requests quickly, sharing information with key stakeholders and ensuring all written work is 100% accurate and reflects the hotel in a professional manner

• Ensure full support is given from marketing and PR towards all hotel departments and print collateral requirements are met within budget guidelines

• Be the brand champion ensuring all collateral conforms to agreed brand standards and content is compliant of corporate guidelines and within budget guidelines across all marketing activities

• Direct individual brand initiatives and ensure hotel brand campaigns are rolled out effectively and communicated using the right tone of voice for each segment

• Monitor, identify and execute opportunities for growth of Hilton Worldwide loyalty program HHonors and booker incentive programs by adhering to on-property guidelines

• Lead the team in conducting continuous analysis of competitive environment and consumer trends, continuously evaluate and drive commercial success whilst identifying key PR opportunities

• Identify and drive a sound social media strategy for the hotel and support departmental initiatives

• Continue to develop, grow and identify opportunities for key partnerships whilst driving revenue in all hotel disciplines

• Ensure hotel maximises all media, customer, marketing and PR activity locally whilst ensuring participation in global partnerships initiatives

• Handle all appropriate use of marketing and PR content, creative resources, translation and photography while optimising an effective online presence in line with regional strategy

Managing Execution

• Deliver performance goals and key marketing and PR objectives of role set out by the Line Manager

• In charge of effective marketing and PR planning including smooth implementation processes and lead execution of all initiatives

• Manage and execute marketing and PR projects in line with resources and budget objectives

• Be the marketing and PR lead in hotel commercial focus meetings, and proactively identify revenue-driving opportunities with other key stakeholders

• Ensure full brand compliance across all marketing and PR initiatives on hotel level

• Lead effective content management strategy across all available channels, including hotel website, OTAs, social media, mobile marketing and partnership programs

• Conduct regular hotel marketing and PR audits to meet Centre of Excellence audit requirements

• Head up all internal and external marketing and PR meetings and attend relevant industry events, training workshops and trade-shows

• Actively support Line Manager on all in-house merchandising activity, print collateral and ensure all merchandising opportunities are identified, maximised and communicated across organisation

• Handle requests and ensure efficient communication to all internal and external stakeholders

• Lead all communications connected with hotel crisis and any issues arising with the hotel

• Embody and champion Hilton Worldwide core values

Developing Talent

• Create an effective marketing and PR team on property, fostering a productive team culture and encouraging career growth

• Encourage and motivate individuals to achieve key company, personal objectives and targets

• Establish a dedicated career path for each team member, with the creation of a Personal Development Plan highlighting key development milestones and timelines

• Conduct regular performance reviews, ensuring adequate feedback is given and used proactively for further development

• Recruit, train, appraise, supervise, support, develop, promote and guide qualified marketing and PR team memberss

• Highlight and encourage team members to participate in job specific training opportunities and attend internal and external networking industry events

Building Relationships

• Establish excellent open communication with all operational teams, i.e. GM, DBD, F&B and other department heads throughout the region

• Proactively develop and maintain good working relationships with various levels of Hilton Worldwide’s personnel including corporate and regional marketing, corporate brand, eCommerce, loyalty and partnerships teams

• Establish effective communication with regional marketing and communications, also to ensure alignment across corporate and regional campaigns, brand support, eCommerce, guest loyalty and merchandising initiatives

• Establish and develop effective working relationships with local and municipal government officials and media representatives

• Proactively develop and maintain effective working relationships with all external customers to include key members of the design and media agencies, partnerships and online marketing teams

• Ensure all members on hotel level excel at being an effective team player to all corporate, regional and hotel level personnel by demonstrating a ‘can do’ and customer focused attitude, providing peer support, cross-functional and across regions

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Required

Preferred

College Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or Hotel Management

Master’s degree in Business, Communications or Marketing

Experience of working in a similar senior marketing and PR position in the hospitality industry for a number of years

Previous experience of working in a senior marketing and PR role in the hospitality industry with a global leader

Experience of directing, managing and motivating a winning team along with evidence of driving successful team results

An advanced knowledge of creating, leading and managing projects and campaigns recognising priorities and working to budget restraints and tight deadlines

Complete understanding of key functions relating to marketing and PR strategies and initiatives whilst managing multiple work streams

Qualifications in project and time management

Considerable experience in developing and implementing effective and realistic marketing and PR plans and strategies, including budget evaluation, extensive communication written work, management and reporting

Demonstrates ability to interact effectively with various levels of management
