Our client is a leading Maldives resort management company currently seeking a Human Resources Manager for one of its properties.


Human Resources

* As the Human Resources Manager you will be fully responsible for the Human Resources, Training, Housing and Transportation of the resort, ensuring the service pertaining to the sense of arrival, stay and departure of all employees is of the upmost and highest of standards, whilst appropriately scheduling employees based on achieving financial budgets.

* A high level of attention to detail for the quality and presentation of employees, so as to ensure exceptional guest experiences driven by imagination and consistency.

* To lead and train a multi-cultural team, by showing inspirational leadership and creating self motivation. 

* Drive the culture of “Teamwork” and “Guest Service” throughout the resort

* To be the custodian of employee recruiting, selecting, counseling, coaching and disciplining

* Review and monitor HR KPI's (employee absenteeism, employee turnover, employee training, etc.) and initiate appropriate action within the departments

* To keep the General Manager abreast timely of all key employee matters

* Maintain all HR forms in a professional and uniformed manner

* Ensure all positions have an up to date and relevant Job Description in line with the SOP’s

* Act on recruiting requests immediately and ensure timely hiring for departments

* Build and maintain a strong rapport with local and international recruitment agents

* To ensure timely renewal of employee visas and approval of bulk visas for recruiting purposes

* To ensure proper administration of all employee files

* Safeguards all employee documents in particular their passports and work permits

* To ensure the employee Handbook is up to date and relevant

* Ensure that a Hotel Orientation Program is in place and delivered by HR to all new employees and also that a Departments Orientation Program has been established in each department

* To ensure that employee probation and annual appraisal reviews are properly completed and timely submitted by the department heads

* Administer the disciplinary procedures and ensure strict abidance

* Ensure that all employees that leave employment have exit interviews and act on information that is provided to improve the work environment and reduce employee turnover 

* To prepare the departmental budget that correctly reflects the resort’s business plan

* Be fully responsible for the strict compliance with the set manning guides on headcount and salaries

* To coordinate with the Financial Controller the timely submission of monthly payroll data including overtime and absence reports

* Work with the Financial Controller and department heads to constantly look for payroll efficiencies that do not affect guest service standards

* Assist in building employee morale and reducing turnover throughout all departments

* Ensure the resort is compliant with all local and statutory employment regulations

* Be fully responsible for employee housing, ensuring that at all times it is clean, safe and of a high quality standard

* Monitor employee sick leave and work with the Hotel Nurse to ensure a healthy workforce

* Constantly review employee benefits with local suppliers

* Work with local charities where the hotel employees can assist

* Assist the General Manager in arranging annual management workshops/retreats

* To coordinate and arrange employee related social activities & annual employee party and awards

* Undertake daily walkabouts of the hotel engaging with as many employees as possible

* Randomly attend monthly departmental meetings

* Maintain an awareness of competitor HR activities and best practices



* To ensure that guest (internal and external) service is delivered in line with the company philosophy and standards at all times

* To drive the culture of daily training, with a high emphasis on guest service, throughout all departments

* Implement training and development strategies to continuously improve performance and guest service

* Coordinate and liaise with all department heads for personal training and HR issues

* Build a strong career and succession planning system to retain and develop talent



* Female, Single and aged 35 to 45 years old

* Of European, South African, Australian, New Zealander, North American nationality

* With at least 3 years experience as an HR Manager with an internationally branded hotel

* Remote resort experience an advantage

* Good health and fitness given remote location

* Outgoing, sociable, friendly, courteous, kind and cheerful.



* A highly competitive salary of US$3,000 net per month

* Service Charge of on average US$428 per month

* Eligible for 1 month salary annual bonus plan

* Single accommodation, laundry services & uniform

* Health Insurance (limitations apply) & paid sick leave

* 1 day off/week (can accumulate to maximum 8 days)

* 30 days annual paid vacation leave after completing one year contract

* 11 annual public holidays (can combine with days off or annual leave)

* Economy class airfare to report to work/home leave
