JOB LOCATION:

Set on 35 acres of lush
palm gardens between the Hajjar Mountains and the sands of the Gulf Coast, this
five-star resort is located in the heart of the city's residential, government
and diplomatic quarter. The hotel's Palm Beach Club offers six floodlit tennis
courts, a 25-metre olympic size pool, a leisure pool, a kid's pool, a fully
equipped gym, sauna, Jacuzzi and easy access to the beach. Local sites of
interest include the Grand Mosque and Amouage Perfume Factory. 6 meeting rooms. Able to accommodate 400 theatre
style, 200 classroom, 700 reception, 450 banquet. Ballroom dimensions: 21 x 30m
with 4m ceiling height. 630 sq.m - divides into 3. Garden view, easy access
from parking area.


FINANCIAL RETURNS

·         Coordinates the day to day operations of the
Banquet floor to obtain maximum profit and maximum guest satisfaction

·         Greets the function organizers on arrival
and ensure that their requests are dealt with

·         Ensures the details on the event order are
delivered

·         Follows up problems which may arise from
event order and room allocations and rectify as soon as possible

·         Maintains master file of banquet functions

·         Supervises VIP functions as required

·         Oversees all service and set ups

·         Ensures rooms, quality of food and final set
up are inspected regularly

·         Ensures all equipment requests are fulfilled

 

 

 

 

 

PEOPLE

  • Ensures optimum performance in specific
    areas assigned in the above areas

  • Oversees the preparation, presentation
    and service of banquet Food & Beverage products to ensure highest
    quality at all times

  • Establishes and maintain effective
    employee relations

  • Develops formal training plans and
    conducts on-the-job training sessions for banqueting department employees

  • Attends daily F&B briefings as and
    when required

  • Establishes and maintains a record
    system to include, but not limited to the following:

  • Files on all previous functions

  • Banquet reservation book

  • Customer contact file

  • Sales solicitation program

  • Room utilization

  • Menu file

  • Promotion file

  • Activities file

  • File on casuals
  •

    ·         Demonstrates service attributes in accordance with industry expectations and company
    standards to include:

  • Being attentive to
    Guests

  • Accurately and
    promptly fulfilling Guests requests

  • Anticipates Guests
    needs

  • Maintains a high
    level of knowledge which affects the Guest experience

  • Demonstrates
    ‘service’ attitude
  • o    Takes appropriate
    action to resolve guest complaints

    ·         Appreciates the dynamic nature of the Hotel industry and extend these
    service attributes to all internal customers

    RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS

    ·     Ensures
    compliance with relevant employment laws and hotel or company policies and
    procedures

    ·     Reads,
    understands and implements the relevant sections of the FLS policy

    ·     Participates
    in social activities (green engage, cause for jeans, blood donation, marathon,
    earth hour, etc.)

    ·     Performs
    other duties and projects as assigned

    aCCOUNTABILITY



    Accountable for the supervision for his
    staff in his designated section. Accountable to check his section is fully
    equipped to render service, liaises with kitchen and events with regards to
    menus, wines, stocks and other significant details relating to banquet daily
    operation.  Banquet Service Manager is
    accountable for supervision of the daily operation.

     

     

     

    QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS



    ·     Preferably
    a graduate of Hotel and Restaurant Management

    ·     Should
    have at least 3 years experience as a Banquet Service Manager in 4-5 star hotel

    ·     Should
    have excellent knowledge in all aspects of beverages including alcohol

    ·     Should be
    fluent in English (speaking, reading and writing).  Arabic is an advantage

    ·     Good
    knowledge of Microsoft Office

    ·     Good
    knowledge of micros operating systems

    ·     Good
    skills in customer service
