An exciting role has arisen in the culinary department at Burj Al Arab for a highly motivated and hardworking individual. The main purpose of this position is to set up and break-down mise-en-place stations at the beginning and end of meal periods, changing over food containers, storing food away properly with correct labelling. Ensure all areas of section are maintained and clean following Burj al Arab standards. Assist the station chefs as a task runner as needed. Prepare and cook food on a daily basis according to business requirements.
Your duties will include:
Ensures proper daily ingredient collection, transport and storage of all items used within the respective kitchen.
Assists in managing food production and waste generated on the station.
Carries out all food preparation tasks given by the Demi Chef and reports back when they have been carried out anticipating the next task to complete.
Keeps the section clean and sanitized, while following HACCP principals.
Any other duties as may reasonably be requested by the management.

In order to be considered for this role, you must have experience working as Commis 3 or similar role in a five star hotel/stand-alone restaurant or successfully completed a culinary apprentice or chef training courses for at least one year with experience and exposure in multi-national cuisines. You must have a basic understanding of culinary operation. You must have certificate/diploma in culinary and good spoken and written English.
