  1. Greet guests and patrons personally and on the telephone
  2. Offer appropriate seating arrangements
  3. Present menus and take water orders
  4. Ensure the quantity of menus is sufficient to cater to the number of guests
  5. Relay orders to the kitchen and ensure all orders are filled in a timely and accurate fashion
  6. Set up dining rooms and make reservation arrangements
  7. Check on every table to ensure that it is clean, spotless and fully set up, and that all silverware and glassware is spotless before any guests are seated at the table.  In addition, check to ensure that all chairs are free of crumbs and that the carpet is spotless.
  8. Manage event related work including setting up tables for large groups and maintaining both exterior and interior of the restaurant
  9. Follow hostess opening and closing checklist thoroughly.
  10. Maintain guest flow charts to track number of guests to each station and to track volume per hour.
  11. Ensure that the entrance to the restaurant has someone there to greet guests at all times.
  12. Check on guests to get feedback on the quality of their meals, service, etc., and share any problems that arise, immediately.  Inform supervisor and manager, immediately, but try to take care of the problem at once.
  13. Pitch in and help in service, whenever the need arises.
  14. Have an excellent knowledge about the city and methods of transportation, etc., in order to converse with customers, give helpful suggestions, etc.
  15. To know the restaurant lay out, table numbers, stations, colleagues working during each shift
  16. Be thorough about the knowledge about the operations, services offered, operating hours of all food and beverage.
  17. Responsible for answering the telephone within 3 ringing and making reservations.
  18. Escorting the guests to their table, placing the menus, giving handover for the waiter.
  19. Offer assistance to colleagues when required
  20. Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance.
  21. Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with established company policies to achieve the overall objectives of the position.
  22. Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate, which will be conducive to maximum employee morale, productivity and efficiency/effectiveness.
  23.  Provides a favorable image of the company at all times to promote its aims and objectives, and to foster and enhance public recognition and acceptance of all of its areas of endeavor.
  24.  Is dressed neatly and well groomed in company approved uniform at all times.  
  25. To perform all other tasks as requested by management.
