Job Overview



To execute all aspects of the
hotel’s strategies of selling Conference and Banqueting services with special
emphasis on Outside Catering. Work with operations to ensure successful
conference and banqueting and outside catering events for our clients.

  • Duties and Responsibilities



    1.     Responsible for Small to Medium sized Events / Groups as approved by
    the Assistant Director of Event Sales



    2.     Assemble and distribute consistent, concise group resumes and banquet
    event orders that clearly represent a convention's every requirement for all
    departments



    3.     Work closely with the client and key hotel departments throughout the
    duration of their conference, being available to assist them at the appropriate
    times, driving excellent MSTS scores



    4.     Responsible for the successful outcome of assigned programs from
    pre-arrival through to post-departure



    5.     Attend and Chair Pre Conference Meetings as required



    6.     Work closely with Revenue Manager to ensure guestroom rate and DDR
    integrity



    7.     Work closely with the Assistant Director of Event Sales in the creation
    of new theme menus, special events and service standards



    8.     Ensure hotel costs are effectively controlled



    9.     Work closely with the Field Sales & Banquet department to ensure
    all contractual terms agreed upon are carried out (including the management of
    Guest Room Attrition and follow-up on Deposit Schedule)



    10.  Maintain the integrity of Opera Sales & Catering at all times



    11.  Oversee activities and guest experience related to the appropriate
    delegate packages



    12.  Maintain files, records and reporting as it pertains to: budgets,
    contacts, planning activities, time lines, contracts, purchase orders and post
    meeting notes



    13.  Service manager for Property Site Visits



    14.  Exceed corporate expectations regarding signature secret shoppers



    15.  Other Duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Event Sales




    SELF MANAGEMENT



    1.     Comply with Hotel Rules and Regulations and
    provisions contained in the Employment Handbook 

    2.     Comply with Company Grooming Standards at all
    times to portray a professional image of self and the hotel.

    3.     Comply with Time and Attendance Policies set
    by the hotel.

    4.     Actively participate in training and
    development programs and maximize opportunities for self-development

    5.     Demonstrate understanding and awareness of
    all policies and procedures relating to Health, Hygiene and Fire Life Safety

    6.     Familiarize yourself with emergency and
    evacuation procedures

    7.     Ensure all security incidents, accidents and
    near misses are always logged in a timely manner and brought to the attention
    of the Line Manager

    8.     Comply with the Company’s Corporate Code of
    Conduct

    9.     Familiarize self with the company values
    (Great Hotels Guests Love) and model desired behaviors (Winning Ways, Room to
    be Yourself) and ways of working (IHG Wheel).

    10.  Perform all tasks as directed by the Manager
    in pursuit of the achievement of business goals
