Assistant Recreation Manager
The roles primary function is to guide his/her team in the upkeep, maintenance and cleanliness of all areas of the Fitness Facility and to provide outstanding customer service.
The responsibilities of the Recreation Manager include knowledge of emergency procedures and safety, group fitness program administration, staff hiring, training and supervision, exceptional customer service skills, overall facility management and helping to achieve set financial targets. Manage team members to ensure high motivation, provision of high quality service and ongoing development Manage the recruiting, managing, training and development of the team Meeting revenue targets and overall department annual budget Manage customer feedback effectively to ensure continuous service and program improvement Respond to audits to ensure continual improvement is achieving. Liaise with other hotel departments. Ensure customers and guests receive friendly and consistent personalized service from all team members Maintain awareness of department security related to cash, stock and equipment and ensure all department procedures are followed. Ensure health and safety regulations are complied with and gym rules are observed by members, clients and guests implementing and interpreting policies and procedures.
Effectively evaluating staff and disciplinary recommendations.
Oversees and assists in the preparation and updates of the Operations Manual. Ensure the cleanliness and safe operation of the Hotel and its guests. Conducts daily and monthly communications meetings and ensures that departmental briefings and meetings are effective and conducted as necessary. Reads and updates the Communications Log Books. Ensures the use new Ensures Recreation areas and service standards are in accordance with the Operations Manual. Assists with the preparation and regular update of the Recreation Departmental Budget, in close cooperation with the Director of Rooms/GM ensuring targets are met and costs are effectively controlled. Assists with the development and maintenance of a detailed Department Operations Manual that reflects policies & procedures, work processes and standards of performance within the Division. Ensures annual review to accurately reflect any changes. Plans, organizes, conducts and coordinates a wide variety of recreational activities. Oversees the day-to-day operations, including follow ups, reporting repairs, maintenance, and housekeeping and reception workload. Responds to questions and complaints. Assist in preparation of variety of reports and other documents such as operating, activity and statistical reports.
Provides input into the development of budgets, including determining staffing and materials.
Oversees rental and registration activities and ensures accurate record keeping for program receipts.
Instructs and supervises recreation staff and volunteers in the performance of assigned duties and checks on the completion of work. Performs other duties as required by the organization.
