The InterContinental Abu Dhabi is an IHG flagship
property in Abu Dhabi and is a prominent landmark on the corniche located in a
commanding beachfront setting. It features 390 guest rooms and suites,
highly acclaimed food and beverage outlets and elegant meeting rooms and
banquet facilities. Being an iconic hotel in the capital, we are
expanding our operations with a luxurious fine dining Lebanese Restaurant
providing 400 indoor and outdoor seats, and a beach project consisting of
upgraded swimming pools for adults and kids and beach bars – in addition to our
already existing beach.
We are currently seeking to hire a dynamic Executive Sous Chef to join InterContinental Abu Dhabi.
an Executive Sous Chef, you will assist the Executive Chef in managing all kitchen operations including stewarding with an
emphasis on maintaining hygiene standards and practices, colleagues training and
overseeing the preparation and presentation of a consistent food production
which meets customer’s expectations. You will also be responsible for managing and
motivating your team, making sure that all colleagues within your department
are adequately trained and developed in line with company policy, direct the
day to day staffing requirements, establish performance and development goals
for team members, provide mentoring, coaching and feedback to help improve
overall performance. As an Executive Sous Chef you will assist in the
recruitment and selection of your team and manage any employee relations issues
with the support of the Human Resources Department. You will actively guide and
direct the whole team to ensure consistency of brand standards and a high level
of performance and service delivery.
your position, you will participate in the preparation of the annual
departmental operating budget and financial plans, monitor budget and control
expenses, identify additional sales opportunities, and monitor local
competitors and industry trends to enhance Food and Beverage
Ideally you'll have a Bachelor's degree in Hotel or
Hospitality Management (or equivalent), with at least two (2) years experience
as a department head in a hotel team. Ultimately, you have excellent
interpersonal and leadership skills, proficient skills for written and oral
communication in English and a desire and the ability to travel and
work in different countries. The right candidate portrays a professional image at
all times and posses strong multi tasking and admin skills.
