Holiday Inn Olaya Riyadh is located along the business area of Olaya Riyadh with 298 rooms, 2 Restaurants and 2 lounge, and has 14 meeting, conference and banqueting facilities.

At the moment, we are looking for an Executive Chef to join our enthusiastic, warm and friendly Food & Beverage team at Holiday Inn Olaya Riyadh. 


As an Executive Chef, you will be responsible for the smooth running of the kitchen and will manage areas of profit, stock, wastage control, hygiene practices and training within the kitchen.  This role involves menu development and maintaining updated and accurate costing of all dishes prepared and sold in the Food and Beverage operation.  You will develop standard recipes and new dishes.  You will maintain comprehensive product knowledge including ingredients, equipment, suppliers, markets and current trends and make appropriate adjustments to kitchen operations accordingly.  You will support in anticipating / analyzing market changes, review operations when necessary and conduct competitor analysis.  You will regularly control and analyse sales, costs, issuance of food, quality and presentation of food products, condition and cleanliness of facilities and equipment, guest satisfaction and marketing.  


You will actively guide and direct the kitchen brigade to ensure consistency of brand standards and a high level of performance and presentation.  Also as the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for managing and motivating your team.  You will be required to ensure that all staff within your department are adequately trained and developed in line with company policy.  You will also be responsible for the recruitment and selection of your team and for managing any employee relations issues with the support of the Human Resources Department.  You will actively guide and direct the whole team to ensure consistency of brand standards and a high level of performance and service delivery.


Preferred candidate should be a college / university degree graduate with a minimum of two years experiences in a similar capacity / function in an international five star hotel with preferable previous experiences in the Middle East; with strong background in HACCP procedures and application.  Importantly, we are looking for a culinary expert with pride, passion and energy that can support in leading and developing a great team and drive excellent food quality. Having an eye for detail and creativity to look at things differently will be a key to developing the Food and Beverage Experience. An outgoing personality is also important whilst representing the Holiday Inn Olaya brand promotionally and locally.


Ultimately, you will be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication in English.   You will be a self-starter, hands-on leader and you will be able to demonstrate understanding of the business and link the business environment to IHG commitments; have a high level of drive for results and ability to lead and motivate team members to achieve the results; will be adaptable and flexible with the ability to build relationships in a multi-cultural environment and gain trust and support of team members and senior managers.  You will have exceptional planning, organizing and delegating skills with attention to detail.  You will have the ability to exhibit strong decision making skills to deliver brand service standards resulting in highest guest satisfaction.  You will possess a high level of integrity to lead by example and gain respect of peers and colleagues.
