Technician 3 (Mason)
Can you lay building materials, including concrete and brick, and constructs or repairs surfaces or structures? Are you able to prepare surfaces prior to beginning work, fabricate, alter, repair and maintain walls, sidewalk, street curb, floors, bathroom showers, sink counters, partitions, manholes and other related structures or surfaces, lays blocks or bricks following blueprints, plans, or drawings, moulds expansion joints and edges using edging tools, jointers, and straightedge, operates equipment, such as forklift, dump truck, and flatbed? Minimum 2 years of experience in a hotel in undertaking masonary activities. Working conditions include restricted movement, dirty environment, extreme temperatures, lifting or carrying heavy objects. Academic qualifications from technical schools or community colleges related to this field. Ability to read blue prints and use specialised tools is a must. Other traits to include tech and engineering system savvy, attention to detail and able to influence through an ability to articulate concepts clearly and in a compelling way and with facts on the system to support it. The role reports to the Maintenance & Conservation Manager.
