Station Chef (Arabic Cuisine)
Are you responsible for overseeing all preparation, cooking and presentation for plates in an assigned restaurant? Do you know that your role may be required to assist with cooking, preparation and plating when the more senior chefs are absent, ensure that all health and food safety standards are practiced and help troubleshoot any kitchen issues that may arise? Can you ensure that food is prepared by recipes designated by the Restaurant Chef, train and guide Demi Chefs and commis in their roles and provide them with adequate training in style of carving and cutting meat, fruits and vegetables? Can you coordinate and participate with other sections of requirements, cleanliness, wastage and cost control? Minimum 2 years in culinary within a 5 star hotel environment is a must. Good level of communication in written and spoken english and local language is a must. Individual has to be detail-oriented and able to work with integrity. Individual has also to be physically fit and able to lift, move and carry items within the prescribed limits. Good culinary skills and specialisation in special cuisines are a plus. Must possess the relevant food handling certificate as required by the local authorities. Familiar with HACCP Guidelines and food safety requirements. The role reports to the Restaurant Chef or in the absence to the Director of Culinary Creations.
